An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2320
The phantom moved incredibly fast. Everywhere it went, the ground froze, and the air felt thick, as if everything was stuck in a strange place.
George suddenly felt a chill and sensed danger approaching. He decided to act quickly and gathered all his strength to punch the phantom.
His punch was powerful, like thunder. As his fist flew out, a red shadow, hot like fire, shot towards the phantom.
To George’s surprise, the red shadow passed right through the phantom as if it were nothing.
“What?” George’s eyes widened. He had never faced a technique that ignored his energy before. What was this phantom?
Determined, George shook off his confusion and tensed his muscles. A red glow surrounded his tanned skin, forming a protective layer. With his strength, he believed no one could hurt him, except perhaps the ultimate grandmaster from Dragonmarsh.
Then, a cold wind swept by as the phantom moved through him.
“Ah!” George gasped, feeling as if he’d been struck by lightning. Pain shot through him, his hands trembled, sweat dripped down his face, and his tan turned ghostly pale.
“What… What kind of technique is this? How can it hurt me?” he panted, feeling both angry and shocked.
Suddenly, a sharp headache hit him, as if thousands of needles were piercing his brain. The pain was unbearable, coming from deep within his soul.
“Hehe… Giant, you were so confident earlier. How does it feel now? Is the Phantom Reaper technique not so pleasant?” Jermaine sneered, his eyes cold.
The Phantom Reaper technique was Jermaine’s secret weapon. He had planned to save it for his final move.
Jermaine had a secret move he planned to use later in the match. But now, he needed to use it earlier than expected to make a name for himself.
“I’ll kill you!” George shouted, pushing through the pain as he tried to stand and charge at Jermaine.
“You’re digging your own grave!” Jermaine replied with a sneer. He formed a hand seal and pointed at George.
Suddenly, a phantom turned into a silent gust of wind that rushed toward George, passing right through him.
In an instant, George’s knees gave way, and he fell to the ground. His head throbbed, and he sweated heavily as he gasped for air.
“Ah! My head feels like it’s going to explode!” George cried, clutching his head in pain.
His body shook uncontrollably from the attack. Despite his strength, he couldn’t handle Jermaine’s soul-piercing move.
“Good! Keep it up! Finish off that giant!” someone shouted from the crowd.
“Just as I expected from the chief senior disciple of the Soultech Union. You’re incredible!” another spectator praised.
“Is this the Phantom Reaper technique? It’s terrifying!” someone else exclaimed.
As they watched George kneeling and writhing in pain, the crowd was filled with a mix of shock and admiration.
At first, they didn’t think much of Jermaine, especially after George had eaten his dark steel sword. Many believed Jermaine didn’t stand a chance of winning.
But once he unleashed the Phantom Reaper technique, everything changed. The battle had completely shifted.
The once fierce and unstoppable George was now thoroughly defeated by Jermaine’s powerful move and couldn’t fight back.
The spectators witnessed the might of this technique firsthand, and they began to believe that the Soultech Union might make a comeback after 200 years.
“The Phantom Reaper technique is truly remarkable. It’s rare to see someone halfway to becoming a grandmaster defeat a grandmaster with such strong defenses.”
In the martial world, Alloy narrowed his eyes as he thought.
If they could learn the method for practicing the Phantom Reaper technique, they could train a group of strong fighters for the Celestial Alliance. These fighters could defeat enemies that were usually out of their league.
“Are you really interested in the Soultech Union’s secret technique?” Cyrus asked, looking at Alloy with a smirk.
He continued, “People had the same idea 200 years ago. They even stole the Phantom Reaper technique. But guess what? No one has ever mastered it.”
“Why not?” Alloy asked, curious.
“Why should I tell you?” Cyrus replied with a sneer.
Alloy felt a flash of annoyance.
Kaden spoke up calmly. “The Phantom Reaper technique is based on an inherited tradition that can’t be explained in simple terms. Without the inherited memory and exceptional talent, no one can master it, even if they have the method. Over a hundred experts have lost their minds trying to learn it. Some even died, and others went crazy. In the end, no one wanted to try again.”
“I see,” Alloy said, nodding. He had heard of the Phantom Reaper technique before, but he didn’t fully understand it. After Kaden’s explanation, he realized just how complicated it really was.
A powerful secret technique lost for 200 years was clearly not something anyone could easily grasp.
