Dustin stood his ground as the electric serpent charged at him. Instead of flinching, he gathered his mystical energy and shaped it into a spear, ready to strike. He was excited to test the power of Stormcraft.

When his energy spear met the Stormcraft, a loud crack of thunder echoed through the air. Energy surged outwards, spreading in all directions. The two forces clashed with such intensity that neither Dustin nor Caleb gained the upper hand.

Despite the fierce exchange, both fighters pressed on, refusing to back down. They engaged in a close-quarters battle, each strike echoing like a drumbeat in the ongoing fight.

“Can you believe Dustin is holding his own against Caleb? This is amazing!” one spectator exclaimed.

“Dustin is strong, so it makes sense he can fight like this,” another replied.

“You don’t understand. Dustin is famous for his deadly sword skills. Yet here he is, standing firm against Caleb, who is using Glow Incantation and Stormcraft—all just with his fists. That shows how skilled he is,” a third spectator added.

“If Caleb wants to win, he’ll need to use a Divine Talisman. But that’s risky; it could harm them both,” someone warned.

As the crowd watched the two fighters clash in the battle ring, whispers filled the air. Everyone knew that neither Dustin nor Caleb had unleashed their most powerful moves yet.

Though the fight was intense, neither opponent seemed close to victory without using their secret techniques or trying to wear each other down.

Kaden observed closely, his eyes narrowing. “Dustin Rhys is impressive, but I’ve never heard of him before.” He focused on Dustin, trying to figure out where his skills came from. But Dustin’s techniques were so varied that Kaden couldn’t pinpoint any specific training or background.

“The world is vast, and exceptional talents will always emerge. I’ve done some research on him, and his background…”

Alloy looked thoughtful. “Whoever is behind him is a big player,” he said, hinting at the mystery surrounding Dustin.

The Celestial Alliance had a strong intelligence network, which usually made it easy to find information on anyone. However, after two days of digging, they found very little about Dustin. It seemed like someone powerful was keeping important details hidden.

This only reinforced their suspicion that Dustin was connected to royalty, as only a significant force could evade the Alliance’s scrutiny.

“I wonder which famous mentor trained him,” Kaden mused.

Suddenly, Cyrus spoke up. “He has used a sword before.”

Alloy shot him a skeptical look. “So what? There are plenty of sword users in the battle ring. What does that prove?”

Cyrus’s next words surprised everyone. “With just that one strike, I could feel Seth’s presence in his energy.”

Alloy’s eyes widened. “Seth Hughes? The Sword Whisperer? But… he’s dead, right?”

The fight between Seth and Alaric outside Oakvale was legendary. It had ended with the Dragon Guard in ruins, causing a major shake-up in the Champ-Tier List. Even a year later, the impact of that battle was still felt. Hearing Seth’s name brought back memories for Alloy.

Seth had single-handedly destroyed the Dragon Guard with one powerful sword strike, a blow that was said to match the strength of terrestrial immortals.

“Even though Seth is dead, that doesn’t mean there aren’t successors,” Cyrus replied coldly. “I’ve studied swordsmanship for years, and I believe my knowledge is among the best. I’m convinced Dustin is linked to Seth.”

“Are you saying that Dustin could be Seth’s disciple?” Kaden asked, catching on quickly.

“I’m about 90% sure,” Cyrus replied with a nod.

He had faced Seth before and was familiar with his unique sword energy. Just yesterday, he felt the same energy coming from Dustin. It wasn’t as strong as Seth’s, but it was still impressive.

“I didn’t know Seth had taken on a disciple. At least his sword skills didn’t die with him. It would have been a real shame if they had,” Alloy said with a sigh.

He trusted Cyrus completely. After all, no one knew the way of the sword better than him.

“Sage Foyer, I hope you don’t mind my honesty. If Dustin uses his sword, your disciple doesn’t stand much chance. The best move right now is to use a Divine talisman to hold him back before he draws his weapon,” Cyrus advised.

If Dustin had mastered Seth’s sword techniques, it could mean trouble for Glenn. Cyrus believed it would be better if Caleb could defeat Dustin instead.

“The outcome of the match is out of our hands. We’ll just have to wait and see how they perform,” Kaden said with a faint smile, looking calm. While he wanted Caleb to win, he wasn’t overly worried. He believed in letting fate decide.

“What’s wrong, Mr. Hadley? Are you scared?” Alloy teased, grinning knowingly. “I can tell you’re uneasy because Dustin is Seth’s disciple.”

“What do you mean?” Cyrus shot back, narrowing his eyes at him.

“Well, I remember your spar with Seth, and it didn’t end well for you. It’s natural to feel a bit anxious about facing his successor,” Alloy replied, still smiling.

He continued, “Both of you are sword experts. If your disciple loses to Seth’s, that wouldn’t look good on you. I understand your concern.”

“Enough with the sarcasm!” Cyrus huffed. “So—”

“What if he’s Seth’s disciple? When he faces Glenn, he will only see defeat!”

Then he shifted the topic. “And it’s not just him. Your disciple, Fenley, won’t stand a chance against Glenn either. If you don’t believe me, let’s just wait and see.”
