“Really? Since you’re so sure of yourself, I’ll be watching closely,” Alloy said, smiling, though his eyes didn’t show the same joy. He couldn’t resist the chance to annoy Cyrus.
Cyrus had faced Seth in a sparring match once and lost in just one move. Ever since that moment, he felt like he was always in Seth’s shadow.
Seth had become a constant reminder of Cyrus’s limits, an inner demon he couldn’t escape.
While Alloy and Cyrus exchanged tense words in the stands, the scene in the battle ring was changing.
Caleb was locked in a long fight, and his internal energy was running dangerously low. He had to keep his Glow Incantation active while also using Stormcraft for his attacks. This combination was draining his energy quickly.
On the other hand, Dustin was focusing on close combat, using his speed and strength to throw punches and kicks. He saved his internal energy mainly to defend against Caleb’s Stormcraft.
Caleb realized he needed to change his strategy quickly; otherwise, defeat was just around the corner.
“This can’t keep going. I have to finish this now,” he thought.
Feeling the strain of his low energy, he gritted his teeth and decided to use his most powerful move.
“Stormcraft!” he shouted.
Caleb formed a hand seal with one hand, and with a quick thrust, a bolt of lightning shot out and expanded into a huge net aimed at Dustin.
As he unleashed Stormcraft, he swiftly flicked his other hand. A yellow talisman shot out and hovered above Dustin’s head.
“Summit Shift!” Caleb called out.
He raised his hand and formed another seal, and the talisman erupted in a brilliant flash of lightning.
Suddenly, an illusion of a giant mountain appeared out of nowhere.
The mountain loomed large, casting a shadow over everything nearby. Beneath it, Dustin felt as tiny as an ant.
Caleb executed his plan perfectly. First, he used Stormcraft to create a distraction, drawing Dustin’s attention away while he worked toward his goal. Then, he activated the Summit Shift talisman, ready to deliver a powerful blow to Dustin.
When the talisman took effect, Dustin would feel as if a mountain was pressing down on him, making it nearly impossible to move. This combination of moves left no chance for Dustin to fight back.
A muffled explosion sounded as Dustin tapped into his true energy to push back the lightning. But the weight of the mountain illusion came crashing down on him.
Dustin felt himself grow heavy under the tremendous pressure. The ground beneath him cracked and buckled.
Even a grandmaster martial artist would struggle under the weight of that mountain, likely facing serious injury or worse.
“So, this is the legendary Divine Talisman. Its power is incredible,” Dustin thought, amazed by the force pressing down on him.
Among the three supreme skills of Sacred Wyrm Summit, the Divine Talisman was the hardest to master and the most powerful.
There were many types of Divine Talismans, and the Summit Shift was just one. It made sense that Sacred Wyrm Summit had maintained its reputation as a leader in the martial arts world for so long.
“Got him!”
Caleb’s face lit up with relief as he saw Dustin frozen in place. Dustin had been a tough opponent, and without the Divine Talisman, Caleb knew he wouldn’t have been able to keep him down.
“That’s an impressive use of the Summit Shift talisman. It really lives up to the hype.”
“Dustin forced Caleb to use his signature technique from Sacred Wyrm Summit.”
Wyrm Summit. Even though he lost, he certainly earned my respect.”
“You bet! This match was intense. Caleb might not have won without the Divine Talisman deciding the outcome.”
As the decision seemed clear, the crowd buzzed with excitement. Caleb’s fans cheered loudly, happy because they had placed bets on him, and a win would mean a big payout.
“Sage Foyer, your student is clever. He knows how important it is to finish things quickly. If Dustin pulls out his sword, who knows what will happen?” Alloy remarked while sipping his tea.
He had watched Dustin’s earlier match against Jeremiah and had seen the frightening power of that one sword strike. It was not something any ordinary grandmaster martial artist could handle.
“Don’t celebrate too soon. The fight isn’t over yet. Seth’s disciple is tough,” Cyrus replied coolly.
“What? Do you really think he can turn things around with the Summit Shift talisman holding him down?” Alloy laughed. “He won’t stand a chance unless he reaches the ultimate grandmaster level.”
He knew that achieving the ultimate grandmaster level required more than just talent; it needed a lot of resources. Even Fenley had only reached that level the day before with Advancil’s help.
Seth had always been a loner. Now that he was gone, Alloy doubted he could have gathered the resources needed to train his disciple to reach that top level.
“You’ll see if you keep watching,” Cyrus said quietly, his eyes fixed on the battle ring. He understood that just because Dustin was pressured by the Summit Shift talisman didn’t mean he was defeated.
“It’s time to finish this!” On the battle ring, Caleb finally took a breath.
He felt a wave of relief as he pulled out a blue talisman and threw it forward.
“Soul Bind!”
The talisman turned into a beam of blue light, aimed straight for Dustin’s forehead. This Soul-Bind talisman had the power to trap a person’s soul, putting them into an endless sleep as long as it stayed whole. The only way to break its effect was to tear the talisman apart.
Just as the talisman was about to touch Dustin, a black sword suddenly fell from above. It moved so quickly that it pierced the talisman before anyone could react.
In a bright flash, the Soul-Bind talisman shattered, scattering beautiful blue sparks everywhere.
