An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2393
The whole arena went completely silent. Everyone stared, and no one dared to make a sound.
Alloy jumped to his feet in the main spectator area, his face filled with worry. He stayed quiet, afraid that making a noise might make Glenn mess up and put Fenley’s life in danger.
Fenley was important to the Celestial Alliance’s future. Alloy had put all his energy into helping Fenley, giving him every resource he could. If Fenley lost in the match, it would hurt the entire guild deeply.
While Alloy was anxious, Cyrus and Penelope cheered silently. They secretly wished for Glenn’s sword to hit Fenley, knowing that if it did, it would take the Celestial Alliance at least ten years to recover.
Fenley felt his body tighten as he looked at the Fang Master hovering just inches away from him. A chill ran down his spine, and goosebumps formed on his skin. Sweat dripped down his face, each drop hitting the ground softly.
He realized he had already lost.
If Glenn wanted to, Fenley would be dead in a moment.
“Return to the case,” Glenn said.
After a few tense seconds, Glenn chose not to deliver the final blow. With a flick of his finger, the Fang Master flew away, spinning once before going back into the sword case. The other eight divine swords followed and returned together.
In an instant, the battle ring, which had been filled with tension, became eerily calm.
“You pushed me to use the Fang Master, so I’ll consider you a decent opponent. I hope you get stronger.” With that, Glenn walked away from the battle ring.
Fenley had performed better than Glenn had expected. He thought three swords would be enough to decide the fight, but Fenley had held his ground.
Fenley pushed himself hard in the match, battling through seven swords before finally giving in. His stubbornness earned him some respect from Glenn.
“Just a decent opponent?” Fenley watched Glenn walk away, feeling defeated. A bitter smile crept onto his face.
He had hoped to break through at a crucial moment, risking everything in one last attempt to beat Glenn. This was his chance to prove himself.
But what had he achieved? He hadn’t even made Glenn use his full strength.
Glenn hadn’t moved much during the fight. He won effortlessly, with just a few quick movements of his sword fingers.
The gap between their skills was not small—it was huge.
Fenley had always thought he was special and stood out among others. But facing Glenn made that confidence fade. What he once viewed as greatness now felt almost silly.
In that moment, he realized that no matter how hard he tried, there would always be someone stronger.
After a long moment, Fenley walked off the battle ring, dazed. He had lost, and staying would only add to his shame.
The match for third place didn’t matter to him anymore. If he couldn’t win first place, then nothing else felt worthwhile.
“Congratulations to Glenn Hadley on his victory!” Oron announced.
The crowd erupted in loud applause.
Glenn’s fans cheered wildly, while Fenley’s supporters, though disappointed, clapped respectfully. They recognized that Fenley had given his all and pushed himself to his limits.
Still, the difference in skill was too great. Losing to Glenn felt fair, even if it hurt.
“Mr. Marshall, what do you have to say now?” Cyrus smirked as he looked at Fenley.
Alloy.
Before the match, Alloy and Cyrus had made a bet. Now that Cyrus had won, he couldn’t resist teasing Alloy.
“You trained a great disciple, and I lost the bet,” Cyrus said with a smirk. Alloy took a deep breath and replied, “A bet is a bet. I’ll keep my word on what I promised you. That’s all there is to it.”
With that, Alloy turned and left. Fenley had been defeated, so Alloy had no reason to stay.
“Thank you!” Cyrus smiled triumphantly. After years of rivalry, he finally had his victory.
After a one-hour break, the second semifinal match began.
Oron stepped into the ring and announced, “The second match will begin now. Please welcome contestant number two, Dustin Rhys, and contestant number three, Abigail Robinson, to the ring.”
As he finished, the crowd erupted in applause.
Abigail was the only female contestant in the final four. She was popular not just for her strength, but also for her beauty. As the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order, she was a controversial figure, yet her charm won her many fans. They cheered and chanted her name as she entered the ring.
Dustin, on the other hand, also had many supporters. He was the dark horse of the tournament, surprising everyone with his impressive victories. He had easily defeated several top foreign contestants, and then shocked the crowd by taking down the favorite, Caleb, in just one strike. The moment when his blow shattered Caleb’s enchantment circle and sealed his victory left everyone speechless.
The crowd buzzed with excitement for the showdown between Dustin and Abigail. With thousands of eyes on them, Dustin and Abigail took their positions in the ring.
“Sir, I didn’t expect to face you today. I guess this fight is unavoidable,” Abigail winked.
She knew that Dustin was strong, so winning wouldn’t be easy. But she was determined not to back down. Now that she was in the ring, she planned to give it everything she had.
“Give it your all,” Dustin said with a smile. “Let’s see how much you’ve improved this past year.”
“Okay! I won’t hold back,” she replied.
As soon as she finished speaking, she sprang into action. She became a blur as she charged at him.
