An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2395
Dustin raised his hand as black feathers fell around him. A bright energy shield appeared in front of him, creating a protective wall.
The feathers hit the shield hard, creating ripples but not breaking through. However, the black flames on the feathers quickly spread and began to eat away at the shield. In no time, the once strong barrier cracked and left a large hole.
Dustin was shocked. His energy was much stronger than what most grandmasters had, both in attack and defense. He had thought his shield would be unbreakable, but Abigail’s phoenix flames proved him wrong.
Realizing the power of her bloodline, Dustin knew he had to act fast. As the flames spread, he waved his hand and summoned a powerful gust of wind that blew the feathers and flames away.
“Glaring Wings!” Abigail wasn’t finished. She quickly made hand signs and thrust her hand forward.
The giant Dark Phoenix behind her flapped its wings and transformed into a streak of black light, charging straight at Dustin like a meteor.
Dustin narrowed his eyes and leaped into the air, narrowly avoiding the deadly attack from the phoenix.
After missing, the phoenix turned around and charged at him again, moving with lightning speed. It seemed ready to take him down with it.
“ArcMor!” Dustin formed a hand sign and unleashed his powerful divine energy.
A huge armor made of earthen colors surrounded him, with an image of a Black Tortoise appearing on the outside.
The Dark Phoenix, surrounded by dark flames, crashed into the illusory tortoise without holding back.
The impact was explosive, sending feathers flying everywhere.
Flames erupted all around, bursting like glowing embers. The illusory tortoise shook violently, its light flickering wildly.
The Dark Phoenix didn’t hold back. It opened its beak and shot out a blast of scorching black flames. These dark flames, as black as ink, engulfed both Dustin and the illusory tortoise.
What made these flames truly frightening was their ability to eat away at everything. Dustin’s mystical pure energy struggled to hold them back. As the black flames burned, the glow of the illusory tortoise began to fade, slowly being consumed. It was clear that the shield wouldn’t last much longer.
This was the true power of the Dark Phoenix. Its flames could incinerate anything in their path, whether it was solid matter or pure energy.
Dustin felt the weight of real pressure for the first time. He knew he had to use all his strength now, or he would be defeated.
“Celestial Blade!” Dustin called out softly.
A black sword fell from the sky, transforming into a streak of light before landing perfectly in his hand.
With the black flames swirling around him, he raised his sword and swung it fiercely. A wave of black sword aura shot forward, slicing through the flames and crashing into the Dark Phoenix.
The phoenix stopped breathing fire. In an instant, it exploded with a thunderous boom.
Although the Dark Phoenix was a spirit and immune to physical attacks, it was no match for Dustin’s powerful sword aura. It was torn apart in a single stroke. After its defeat, the raging flames vanished, and the battle ring returned to a peaceful calm.
“Sir, looks like you’re finally taking this seriously,” Abigail said with a faint smile, her excitement growing.
“Can’t help it. If I don’t use my sword, I’ll probably be toast today,” Dustin replied.
Abigail responded calmly. Her Phoenix bloodline had a unique power that countered the energy of all martial artists, even those stronger than her. If Dustin didn’t use his sword, he risked getting caught in her black flames.
“In that case, let’s have a real match!” Abigail said casually, raising one hand. Suddenly, a massive silver broadsword appeared out of nowhere.
The sword was over ten feet long—broad and heavy, which was surprising given Abigail’s small stature. Although she was skilled with spells, she preferred close combat, where danger was immediate and the excitement was palpable.
Dustin raised an eyebrow at her choice of weapon. While a martial artist could swing such a heavy blade with ease, it was unusual for a woman to choose something so cumbersome. Heavy weapons had great power but lacked speed and agility, making them hard to maneuver.
Still, if she was brave enough to wield it, he figured she must be confident in her abilities.
“Bring it on, Sir!” Abigail declared, gripping her broadsword with both hands, the tip aimed directly at Dustin.
“Stay sharp,” he replied, not wasting any time. In a blink, he closed the distance between them, moving as fast as lightning.
Abigail didn’t flinch. With all her strength, she swung her sword down at his afterimage. As the blade descended, black flames erupted, leaving little room for dodging.
Dustin twisted his body, weaving through the flames like a bird dodging branches. In one smooth motion, he struck the edge of Abigail’s broadsword with his sword.
The loud clang of metal hitting metal echoed.
Sparks flew as Abigail’s sword swung down. For a brief moment, she paused, her strike halted mid-air.
Dustin saw his chance and swung his sword again with incredible speed. It was so fast that it was hard to see.
Abigail managed to raise her sword just in time, positioning it horizontally to block the attack.
The Celestial Blade crashed into the hilt of her broadsword with a loud bang. The force of the blow created a deep groove in her hilt and pushed her back several steps.
Dustin quickly took advantage of her unsteady position and attacked again. His movements were quick, accurate, and fierce, showing no signs of hesitation.
Abigail found herself on the defensive, unable to strike back. Just when it seemed like defeat was near, a burst of golden light suddenly erupted from her body.
