-Mrs. Lewis remarked, “I heard from Duncan that he and Liberty plan to obtain their marriage certificate after the New Year and hold the wedding when Liberty has a bit more free time. Recently, his father and I have been preparing the betrothal gifts for Liberty, and we are also in the process of selecting a date.”

The betrothal gifts could only be sent when Liberty was free and had returned to Wiltspoon on an auspicious day.

Liberty was so busy that she left Sonny with Serenity to help care for him. She had not returned to Wiltspoon since her trip to Jensburg, and it was always Duncan who brought Sonny to Jensburg to visit her.

Of course, they wouldn’t be having a wedding anytime soon.

Serenity has refused to change her name and still retains her father’s surname.

Mrs. Lewis nodded. “That’s the family tradition. Liberty can only change her surname. Mrs. Stone, our entire family has no objections and fully respects the Farrell family’s customs.”

Mrs. Lewis wanted to prevent Duncan from becoming unhinged again. Currently, Duncan struggles to walk normally. If she opposed his relationship with Liberty and urged them to separate, she could hardly imagine the extent of Duncan’s distress.

Madness; she would prefer to accept that Duncan is visiting Farrell’s house and that her granddaughter does not carry the surname Lewis.

Most of Duncan’s business operations were located in Wiltspoon, and Liberty also owned properties there. Additionally, Serenity and Audrey resided in Wiltspoon. Even if Liberty were to become the head of the Farrell family, she would still have to return to Wiltspoon frequently. It’s not as if they would no longer be able to see their son simply because he visits Farrell’s house.

They also had several grandchildren, so it was acceptable for one of their granddaughters to not bear the surname Lewis; they could embrace it.
