Chapter 3424
Hayden smiled and remarked, “There’s still a long way to go; many opportunities lie ahead.”
After a brief pause, she added, “It might actually be better if you weren’t regarded as the successor of the Farrell family.”
For Kathryn, being identified as the successor of the Farrell family felt like carrying a heavy mountain on her back, a burden so weighty that it left her breathless.
Kathryn smiled in response but chose not to reply; instead, she answered a call from her mother.
Clarissa: “Kathryn, come home; I have something important to discuss with you.”
Kathryn: “Sure, Mom.”
After Kathryn agreed, Clarissa ended the call.
Returning the phone to her trouser pocket, Kathryn finished her coffee. Once she set the cup down, she

stood up and said apologetically to Hayden, “I’ll take you out to dinner another time.”
Hayden stood and accompanied her to the elevator, walking Kathryn all the way to the first floor and watching her get into her car before heading to her own.
Her parents were waiting for her to return home for dinner.
Kevin had already arrived and prepared the meal himself. Whenever Kevin visited Hayden’s house, he would commandeer her chef’s duties. The chef, lacking a sense of urgency, would humbly seek Kevin’s cooking tips.
Once inside her car, Hayden called Hugh. When he answered, she said coldly, “Come home for dinner.”
Hugh replied, “Sister, I’m out with friends, so I won’t be coming back.”
Hayden remained silent and hung up.
Hugh, on the other end, was left speechless: “…”
After finally waiting for his sister and future brother-in-law to return from their trip, Hugh took a vacation and made plans for dinner.
He was surrounded by his close female friends and his closest companions. Everyone was having a wonderful time and enjoying the meal. His sister called to ask if he would be heading home. After finishing half of his meal, Hugh finally decided it was time to leave.
He addressed the group, saying, “My sister asked me to come home, so I need to head out. You all can take your time eating. If you want anything else to eat or drink, just order it. Today’s meal is on me; I’ll let the manager know to charge it to my account.”
“Miss Queen asked you to go home, so you should go quickly. We’ll eat slowly,” everyone encouraged Hugh to leave.
Young Master Qiao—now referred to as Miss Qiao—was not someone to be trifled with; she had a reputation for being cold and unapproachable. When her sharp gaze swept across the group, they all felt a chill.
Hugh, however, was easygoing. Born to the same mother, he and his twin sister had distinctly different personalities—one being a boy and the other a girl.
He picked up his car keys and headed outside, soon followed by a girl.
“Hugh!”
Upon hearing his name, Hugh stopped and turned around to see one of his close friends approaching.
“Simone, what’s up?” he asked with a smile as she approached.
Simone cautioned him, “You just had a drink. Don’t drive home alone; either call a designated driver or let me take you back.”
Hugh’s smile faded slightly, but his gaze softened as he looked at Simone. “I barely drank, just had a couple of sips. I wanted to enjoy the evening with everyone and stay at the hotel for the night, but my sister insisted I come back.”
He had invited everyone to dinner at their hotel, which made it convenient for those who got drunk to simply rest there.
