“We’re done for!” Draco exclaimed, his face going pale when he saw Mr. Gardner get arrested.

Everything had happened so fast, from Mr. Granville’s arrival to Mr. Gardner’s capture. Draco felt confused and overwhelmed. The only thing he knew for sure was that Mr. Granville wasn’t going to let his son-in-law escape punishment, which meant trouble for them all.

Draco had thought Mr. Granville was there to save them, but it turned out he was there to bring them to justice. The world really could be unpredictable!

Draco looked back at Dustin, who had been quiet during all this. Dustin wore a calm expression, as if he had expected everything that was happening. Who was this man, and why did Mr. Granville treat him with such respect? Why would Lord Asmon hold a grudge against someone like him?

“Arrest all the other men too!” Mr. Granville ordered sharply. Soon, Draco and Mr. Gardner’s men were all taken into custody.

Draco and Mr. Gardner exchanged worried glances. It was clear they would have to face the consequences of their actions.

“What’s going on?” Natasha asked, struggling to understand the sudden change in events. She had anticipated trouble when Mr. Granville showed up.

To her surprise, Mr. Granville didn’t blame them. Instead, he fired Mr. Gardner and sent him to prison. Who could have predicted such a turn against his own son-in-law?

“Am I dreaming? Is Mr. Granville on our side?” Dahlia said, her eyes wide with shock. She couldn’t believe Mr. Granville’s actions. Knowing he was related to Mr. Gardner, she had braced herself for the worst.

At one point, Dahlia thought she and Dustin were doomed. But now, the outcome felt unbelievable. Could it really be that Mr. Granville was a righteous man after all?

“Are you Dustin? I can see you are a capable young man.” Mr. Granville approached Dustin with a rare smile, easing the stern look on his face.

“Hello, Mr. Granville,” Dustin replied politely with a nod.

“I apologize for the trouble you’ve gone through because of my mistakes. I sincerely ask for your understanding and forgiveness,” Mr. Granville said, bowing his head slightly.

Dustin smiled back, “They say there are always a few bad apples in every bunch. I admire that you brought your son-in-law to justice.”

“Thank you for your understanding, young man. Now I can finally stop worrying,” Mr. Granville said with a sigh of relief.

What no one knew was that he had just received a call from the Governor of Millsburg. The message was clear: protect Dustin Rhys at all costs! Dustin must have some serious influence if the governor himself was making sure he was safe. In a city like Swinton, someone with such connections was untouchable.

After exchanging pleasantries, Mr. Granville and his men quickly left.

“Mr. Rhys, Ms. Nicholson, are you both alright?” Hunter asked, looking concerned as soon as they were gone.

“We’re fine. Thanks for your help, Mr. Anderson,” Dahlia said, nodding in appreciation.

“It was nothing. Don’t worry about it,” Hunter replied with a reassuring nod.

“Dustin, looks like you’re having a good time!” Natasha said as she walked over, her heels clicking on the ground. She looked at him with resentment, as if he had betrayed her.

“What do you mean?” Dustin asked, confused.

“Am I wrong?” Natasha crossed her arms and responded sarcastically. “When I heard you were locked up, I was so worried that I searched everywhere for help to get you released. Meanwhile, you seem to be just fine here.”

“Chatting with another woman, huh? Why wouldn’t you be having a good time?” Natasha said, raising an eyebrow.

“Don’t misunderstand. She was arrested because of me,” Dustin said awkwardly.

“Is that true?” Natasha asked, still not convinced.

“If that’s the case, why are your hands so tightly clasped?” she pointed out.

“What?” Both Dustin and Dahlia looked down at their hands and realized they were holding each other’s fingers.

Surprised, they quickly let go.

“I never thought you’d be a playboy, Dustin. I’m so disappointed! My devotion is wasted on you!” Natasha sighed dramatically and turned to leave.

“Ms. Harmon!” Dustin called as he took a few steps toward her. He glanced back at Dahlia, as if he wanted to say something.

“Why are you looking at me? Go after her. It’s not my problem!” Dahlia said, trying to sound casual while avoiding his gaze.

“Okay. Take a cab home,” Dustin said, then ran after Natasha.

Did he really chase after Natasha? Dahlia felt annoyed. Didn’t he see that she was testing him to see who he valued more—her or Natasha? What a fool!

She had been sulking to get his attention, and now he was running after Natasha. Would he jump off a building if she asked him to?

Just the thought of Dustin spending time with Natasha made her angry.

“Ms. Harmon, please let me explain!” Dustin said as he caught up to Natasha at the entrance. “I had to protect Dahlia from a dangerous situation. I’m not trying to get back with her.”

“Is that true?” Natasha looked at him suspiciously.

“Of course! Why would I lie to you?” Dustin replied, his face serious.

“Alright then, since you rushed…”

“Alright, I’ll forgive you because you’re being honest!” Natasha suddenly broke into a big smile.

The disappointment and anger on her face vanished in an instant.

Dustin was amazed at how quickly a woman’s mood could shift. Their feelings seemed as unpredictable as the weather.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that Natasha might be playing games with him.

“Dahlia, you’re still not as good as me!” Natasha thought with a smug look at Dahlia.

It was clear from Dustin’s actions that he cared more about Natasha than about Dahlia.

“Let’s go; I’ll drive you home,” Natasha said cheerfully.

“Not right now. I have to meet someone,” Dustin replied, shaking his head.

“Meet someone? Who?” she asked, curious.
