“Why did you bring him here, Natasha?” Jessica asked with a frown.
Natasha responded calmly, “This is my place, so I can bring whoever I want. Besides, I’ve found the perfect candidate for chief physician, and it’s Mr. Dustin!”
“What?!” Everyone gasped in surprise at her announcement.
“Are you serious, Natasha? Is he even qualified to be the chief physician for the Harmons?” Jessica expressed her concerns.
“Dustin’s medical skills are exceptional, and he knows medicine inside and out. I’m confident he’ll do well as chief!” Natasha assured her.
“What nonsense are you talking about?!” Jessica shouted, clearly frustrated.
Ruth stood up to ease the tension. “Calm down, everyone. There’s no need to fight. Let’s sit down and talk this through. Dustin, let me introduce you to everyone. This is my mom; I believe you’ve met her before. And this is my cousin, Quentin Harmon.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you both,” Dustin said politely, nodding without sounding arrogant.
“So you’re the pretty boy who keeps hanging around Natasha?” Quentin said with a sneer, looking Dustin up and down with disdain, as if he were an insect on the ground.
Dustin raised an eyebrow at Quentin’s attitude but quickly returned to his usual calm expression.
“Didn’t I ask you a question? Why aren’t you saying anything?” Quentin taunted, trying to intimidate him by lifting his chin.
“I’m afraid I didn’t quite…”
“Did you catch that, Mr. Harmon?” Dustin asked calmly.
“Are you pretending you didn’t hear me, or do you really not get it?” Quentin challenged him, taking a deep breath. “Let me ask again. Did you kill Tilda Snider?”
“I did, but—” Dustin started to explain, but Quentin cut him off with a loud voice. “Great! Now that you’ve admitted to it, my job just got a lot easier. I’ll make sure Tilda, one of the key members of the Harmon family, doesn’t die in vain!”
With that, he slammed an urn on the table. “Look at her ashes and bow your head in apology!”
“What?” Dustin frowned, confused.
Quentin had always shown his anger, but now it was clear he wanted to humiliate Dustin in front of everyone.
“Are you serious? The Tilda Snider you’re talking about is the same woman who betrayed the Harmons and even tried to kill Ms. Harmon. Are you saying I should have spared her?” Dustin asked.
“Who are you to decide who lives or dies? Even if she’s a traitor, she was still part of the Harmon family. Her problems should be ours to handle, not yours! You should think carefully about your targets before you eliminate them! And who are you to interfere in the Harmon family’s business?” Quentin shouted.
Dustin let out a frustrated laugh. Not only did he not get thanked for helping the Harmons deal with their traitors, but now he was facing punishment?
What a strange way to show gratitude!
“Enough talk. Just bow down to Tilda…”
“I’ll consider letting you off the hook for my cousin’s sake,” Quentin said, his voice harsh and commanding. He looked down at Dustin, feeling powerful, as if he could squash him like a tiny ant.
Dustin shrugged, unfazed. “What if I refuse?”
Quentin sneered, “If you refuse, I’ll make sure to break your legs!”
“I’d like to see you try,” Dustin shot back, his eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint.
“You’re really asking for it!” Quentin shouted, his anger boiling over. He slammed his fists on the table, and the sound of a teacup shattering underfoot echoed through the room.
Suddenly, Natasha stormed over, her face filled with fury. “Quentin Harmon! If you even think about touching Dustin, I’ll be the one to break your legs!”
