An Understated Dominance - Chapter 116
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, you jerk!” Mr. Wangley shouted, clearly angry.
“Remember, Mr. Harmon isn’t the only one poisoned here. Without my antidote, you won’t survive past tomorrow with my poison in you!” he continued.
“Is that so? Want to bet on who dies first?” Dustin chuckled.
“Why you—!” Mr. Wangley was left speechless.
Looking at the situation, it was clear that Quentin would be the first to lose.
That’s why Mr. Wangley suggested calling it a draw.
But Quentin wasn’t interested in that at all.
“Just give me the antidote, Dustin! We’ll take this loss!” Quentin said reluctantly.
If he wasn’t in so much pain, he would never admit defeat to someone like Dustin.
“You can’t just say you’ve lost. Where’s the sincerity in that, Mr. Harmon?” Dustin teased, shaking his head.
“Don’t test me, Rhys!” Quentin yelled.
“When you make mistakes, you should admit it, right? Are you saying you can’t even do that?” Dustin pressed on, showing no fear.
“Oh, so you want me to kneel and admit my mistakes to you? What makes you think you deserve that?” Quentin sneered, his expression growing cold.
“Of course, I don’t deserve it. I guess you’ll just have to deal with the poison yourselves,” Dustin replied with a shrug.
“Are you threatening me?” Quentin scowled.
“Goodness, no. I’m just returning the favor,” Dustin said calmly.
“Enough! Everyone stop this nonsense right now!” Jessica suddenly screamed.
“You need to hurry and give the antidote to Quentin right now, Dustin. If anything happens to him, you won’t be able to take responsibility!” Jessica said urgently.
“With all due respect, ma’am, I value my promises highly. Since I just made one, I have to keep it,” Dustin replied calmly.
“What are you talking about? Why are you choosing to go against the Harmons today?” Jessica snapped, her once pretty face now stern.
She thought Dustin would back down and choose to be the bigger person, but instead, he seemed insensitive.
“Can you stop pretending? You didn’t say anything when Quentin was bullying Dustin before. Why are you coming to his defense now that he’s in trouble? Do you even have any dignity left?” Natasha suddenly spoke up.
“Why are you defending an outsider when Quentin is your own cousin?” Jessica frowned at her.
“I’m speaking for the truth, not just family ties!” Natasha declared firmly. “Quentin started all of this, so he’s getting what he deserves. We’re outsiders in this competition, so we should just watch and not interfere!”
“Why you—!” Jessica growled, clearly frustrated with her daughter’s outburst.
Even though she let Natasha express herself outside, she felt powerless to change her mind in private. All her nagging and lectures were ineffective. Natasha was truly a thorn in her side!
“This is the last time I’m asking, Rhys! Are you giving me the antidote or not?” Quentin demanded, gritting his teeth.
“And I’ll give you the same answer. Kneel down and apologize first,” Dustin replied.
“Fine! Fine!” Quentin finally relented, a sinister look on his face.
“I can kneel down, but are you ready to face the consequences?” he growled, his expression menacing.
“I need to see it for myself first,” Dustin replied with a mocking smile.
“Fine! I hope you don’t regret this!” Quentin shouted through clenched teeth. After a brief pause, he dropped to the floor on his knees with a heavy thud.
As he knelt, he shot a fierce glare at Dustin, clearly furious. Humiliating him in public felt like a death sentence!
“The man has already knelt before you. Are you satisfied now, Dustin? Hurry up and give him the antidote!” Jessica snapped.
Humiliating Quentin Harmon was a blow to the entire Harmon family’s pride. How dare a mere doctor treat a Harmon this way? He was really asking for trouble!
“Here. Bottoms up,” Dustin said as he pulled out a small white vial and poured its powdery contents into a cup of tea.
“Is that Hexanavir?” Mr. Wangley wondered to himself.
