An Understated Dominance - Chapter 117
When Mr. Wangley saw the small, white vial, his face showed shock, quickly replaced by greed.
That vial held the legendary Miracle Cure created by Dr. Rowan Cross!
How did someone like Quentin end up with such a valuable treasure?
Everyone knew that this antidote was extremely rare and worth a lot of money. Even a tiny bit could sell for an outrageous price.
No wonder Quentin felt so confident; he had Hexanavir in his hands.
Today would be the day Mr. Wangley would get his revenge!
“Hmph!” Quentin scoffed, then drank his cup of tea in one swift gulp.
Almost immediately, the sharp pains in his stomach began to fade.
In just a few minutes, the pain was completely gone.
Quentin felt like he had just escaped a serious ordeal.
“I won’t forget how you embarrassed me today, Rhys! You better not get caught by me again!” Quentin shouted, then turned to Natasha Harmon. “And you, Natasha, need to fix the issues with Eternumax soon. Don’t blame me if I have to report you to the board!”
After barking his threats, Quentin left the room looking exhausted.
“You’ll regret this, young man!” Mr. Wangley grunted before rushing after Quentin.
How could a weak doctor like him humiliate Mr. Wangley?
If he decided to take revenge, he promised it wouldn’t end well for Quentin.
“So you came ready, Dustin. You really scared me just now,” Ruth said with a sigh of relief.
“It was all thanks to the Hexanavir your sister sent me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have won,” Dustin replied.
Dustin let out a small chuckle. “Easily,” he said, but the antidote only made things a little easier for him.
Jessica snorted in disdain. “Hmph! So it was all a trick!” She had thought Dustin used his own skills, but it turned out he simply relied on Hexanavir, created by the famous Dr. Rowan Cross.
Natasha shot Jessica a hard glare. “You can doubt it all you want, but Dustin won.”
“So what if he won by luck? What makes you think he can research Eternumax without Mr. Wangley?” Jessica challenged.
Eternumax had been crucial for Harmon Pharmaceuticals for many years and was vital to their family’s future plans. Jessica couldn’t believe that someone like Dustin, who was relatively unknown, could possibly help.
“Who says? I think Dustin is much more knowledgeable than this Wangley guy,” Natasha replied firmly.
“Fine, if you believe he’s the better choice, then let’s make a bet. If he can develop Eternumax from scratch, I’ll accept that he’s passed the test. If not, I’ll have him resign immediately to make room for someone else!” Jessica shouted, clearly angry.
“I’m okay with that,” Natasha said, standing her ground. She knew whether Dustin could do it was a different question, but she couldn’t back down now.
“Rhys, you better not let my daughter down!” Jessica yelled at Dustin, giving him a stern look before rolling up her sleeves and storming out.
“What did Mom mean by ‘test’ just now?” Ruth asked, confused.
Curiosity filled the room.
“Kids shouldn’t get involved in adult matters,” Natasha said, rolling her eyes at Ruth.
“Hmph! I’m sorry for asking. Who died and made you queen?” Ruth replied, pouting.
“What’s Eternumax?” Dustin asked, pretending not to know.
Natasha Harmon forced a smile and began to explain. “The Harmons are involved in many industries, but our main focus is still medicine. That’s why we carefully chose our business partners and how we would share benefits. We wanted to dominate the pharmaceutical market in Swinton. So, we started researching and developing a new drug to capture that market share.
“Everything was going well at first, but we didn’t expect a traitor to be among us. When Tilda Snider was assassinated, it was a warning to all traitors but also an opportunity for us. However, when they realized they were about to be exposed, they tried to lure our employees away with promises of better benefits. This led to a significant loss of our workforce, and they even stole our research! The research that was for our new drug, Eternumax!”
