An Understated Dominance - Chapter 118
“I see,” Dustin said, nodding. Then he remembered something and asked, “So, if you and Edwin are competing, whoever makes Eternumax first will control the market in Swinton?”
“Yes, that’s true,” Natasha replied. “But there’s a problem. My researchers’ documents were stolen, so we have to start from scratch. It’s going to be really hard.”
“That Edwin is awful! He’s so sneaky!” Ruth exclaimed, upset.
“What exactly is Eternumax?” Dustin asked again.
“It’s a medicine that not only helps you live longer but also keeps you looking beautiful. It comes from an ancient recipe for an antidote. Unfortunately, part of the recipe is lost since it’s so old. We need to keep researching to recover the whole thing,” Natasha explained.
“An ancient antidote recipe?” Dustin thought for a moment. “I think I know of a similar secret medicine called Immortunol. I read about it in a medical archive. It also extends life and preserves beauty. Its effects should be comparable to Eternumax,” he said with a slight smile.
The archives he had explored contained valuable antidotes that time had forgotten. Anything listed there was definitely special.
“Hah! I don’t believe you! Eternumax is a secret ancient recipe. How could this ‘Immortunol’ even compare? I’ve never heard of it!” Ruth crossed her arms, looking skeptical.
“Just because you haven’t heard of it doesn’t mean it isn’t real. There could be some surprises in store,” Dustin replied.
Dustin suggested, “Let’s try to make the Immortunol.”
Natasha quickly replied, “No matter if it works, we should give it a shot. Just tell me what ingredients you need, and I’ll get them ready right away.”
They were in a tough spot, and this was their only option.
“Rue, bring me a pen and paper,” Dustin ordered, turning around.
“Hey! I’ve told you a thousand times! My name is Ruth, not Rue!” Ruth grit her teeth but still kicked Dustin lightly before fetching the pen and paper.
Dustin quickly jotted down the recipe for Immortunol.
Natasha read through the list and nodded. “These ingredients are pretty common. The only tricky one is Luminianth Root.”
“Sis, I think I saw a few sellers in the medicine market. We might find some there,” Ruth suggested.
“Yeah. Take Dustin with you to check it out. I still have some things to handle,” Natasha replied.
“Alright…” Ruth said, pouting a bit. She was disappointed but knew she had to help her sister.
After deciding where to go, Ruth drove Dustin to the market.
At the market, a Mercedes-Benz parked in front of a shop called Emporium.
Dahlia and a few others got out of the car. Along with Florence and James, there was a pretty, well-dressed woman. This was Florence’s niece, Julie Amberson.
“Julie, I thought you wanted to buy a gift? Why are we here?” Florence asked, confused.
“Aunt Florence, I just heard this shop has a rare ingredient called Luminianth Root!” Julie whispered excitedly.
“Luminianth Root? What’s it used for?” Florence asked, intrigued.
“It’s a great gift,” Julie replied.
“Of course! Tomorrow is the Hummers’ birthday party. I’m planning to give this to Miss Hummer!”
“Why are you giving this instead of gems or jewelry like everyone else?”
