Lyra stepped into Mirage, feeling frustrated. “Ugh, that woman is attractive, but how can she fall for someone as clueless as Dustin?”

“I know, right? What a waste,” Chris added with a long sigh. He was good-looking and wealthy, so he couldn’t understand why he didn’t attract beautiful women too.

“Let’s focus, everyone. We’re here for business,” Dahlia interrupted. “Lyra, go find out which Harmon is in charge tonight. It would be great if we could promote ourselves.”

“I have a friend who works here. I’ll give her a call.” Lyra pulled out her phone and dialed. Soon she had good news for Dahlia. “Ms. Nicholson, the charity event tonight is organized by the Steel Lady herself. Who she partners with will depend on her preferences.”

“The Steel Lady? Is she the famous business genius?” Dahlia’s eyes sparkled with excitement. The Steel Lady was known for conquering the business world of Swinton, outshining most men in the industry.

Dahlia admired such an impressive woman but had never met her.

“Lyra, can you ask your friend to help us arrange a private meeting with the Steel Lady? We can’t let this chance slip by,” Dahlia urged.

“I can try, but I can’t promise anything,” Lyra replied.

“That’s fine. I’ll thank her later.” Inside, Dahlia was buzzing with excitement. Partnering with the Harmon family was very important to her. If she could meet the Steel Lady first, she believed she could impress her and make a strong case.

…

As time went on, more guests arrived at Mirage. Although the charity event hadn’t started yet, Natasha was already busy.

“Mr. Rhys, please feel free to look around. I need to…”

“Feel free to ask anyone here if you need anything,” Natasha said.

“Alright. Thanks,” the other person replied.

“Julie, can you help me look after Mr. Rhys?” Natasha called as she walked toward her office.

As she entered, a middle-aged manager approached her with some documents. “Ms. Harmon, here is the information you asked for. We’ve screened several companies and narrowed it down to four that qualify to be our partner. Please take a look and let me know if you need anything else.”

Natasha nodded and accepted the documents, starting to read through them. After a while, she raised her eyebrow, intrigued.

“Huh, what a coincidence,” she murmured.

A playful smirk crossed Natasha’s face. She noticed that Jackson Group was one of the candidates, and she found Dahlia’s resume in the papers. Curious, she read through it and soon found something surprising.

Three years ago, Dahlia was unknown, and Jackson Group was hardly recognized. However, since her marriage, Dahlia’s career had taken off dramatically. In just three years, the small company had transformed into a highly valuable corporation with millions in assets.

During that time, Dahlia attracted significant investments and secured various projects. To Natasha, these achievements seemed suspicious. It was strange that someone without powerful connections could achieve this so quickly.

“Could it be… him?” Natasha thought, picturing Dustin. He was the only person she could think of who might support Dahlia so selflessly. Her curiosity deepened even more.

Who was Dustin, anyway?

It was hard for anyone to believe that Jackson Group could grow into such a big company in just three years.

“Dustin, oh, Dustin. What are you hiding?” Natasha thought, narrowing her eyes as she became intrigued by the mystery surrounding him.

“And that woman, Dahlia… What were you thinking? Why would you leave a rich husband for that jerk named Chris? Are you really that foolish?” Natasha sighed, struggling to understand.

A man had given so much for her, yet she chose to walk away and even decided to divorce him. Natasha couldn’t make sense of it. But now, she saw an opportunity to have Dustin all to herself.

“Ms. Harmon, are you looking into Dahlia Nicholson from Jackson Group?” the manager asked hesitantly, noticing Natasha deeply focused on her documents.

“Dahlia? Hmph,” Natasha replied, clearly unimpressed. “She might be qualified, but I don’t like her.”

“Got it. I’ll take her off the list right away!”

“No, don’t do that. Just reorganize the documents and show them to Mr. Rhys. Let him decide,” Natasha said with a mysterious smile.

“Understood.”

The manager was surprised but didn’t question her.

“Is there something else?” Natasha asked when he didn’t leave.

“Ms. Harmon, Edward Spanner from Drey Group is here and wants to meet you,” he said, bowing his head.

“Edward? Trevor Spanner’s son? What’s he doing here?” Natasha was taken aback.

“He says he wants to discuss business, but I doubt that’s his real reason. Should I have the guards remove him?”

“Trevor sent his son instead of coming himself? Ha… Never mind. I want to see what he’s up to.”
