An Understated Dominance - Chapter 126
“This guy really hit the jackpot! I can’t believe he found a Blood Luminianth Root!”
“I know, right? With a treasure like that, he’ll never have to worry again!”
“Damn it! If I had known there was treasure in that piece of wood, I would have bought it myself!”
As the Blood Luminianth Root was revealed, the crowd began to chatter excitedly.
Everyone looked at Dustin with envious eyes.
“Wow! This guy really struck gold!” James gritted his teeth, his face filled with anger.
“That’s strange. How did he know there was treasure hidden inside?” Dahlia was more puzzled than shocked.
Even Mr. Walter had no idea.
Yet somehow, Dustin had figured it out.
“Is it really just luck? Or did he have another reason?” she wondered.
“Dustin, we really hit the jackpot this time! But how did you know a Blood Luminianth Root was inside?” Ruth asked the question everyone was thinking.
“To be honest, I wasn’t sure. It was just a guess,” Dustin replied humbly.
“A guess? You mean you had no idea there was a Blood Luminianth Root in there? And you spent five million dollars on a gamble?” Ruth looked shocked.
“You could say that,” Dustin nodded.
“I really don’t know if I should call you stupid or lucky,” Ruth said, giving him a bewildered look.
“I admit it was a big risk, but it paid off. When something seems off, there’s usually a good reason. I remember reading something about a long-living Luminianth Root wilting,” Dustin smiled faintly.
“You’re a genius! You really opened my eyes today!” Ruth gave him a thumbs up, her respect for him growing immensely.
“Wait! That Blood Luminianth Root is mine!” Florence suddenly exclaimed.
“Hey! What are you doing?!” Ruth shouted as Florence tried to grab the Blood Luminianth Root.
“I’m not selling it! I’ll give you back your five million dollars. I can’t sell this root anymore!” Florence was panicking. This root was worth ten billion dollars. There was no way she could just hand it over so easily.
“That’s right! We’re not selling it anymore! Give it back to us!” Julle added, finally coming to her senses.
Chapter 126
Everyone frowned at the outrageous behavior of Florence and Julle.
“Are you serious? The deal is done. You can’t just back out now!” Ruth stood in front of the Blood Luminianth Root, looking fierce. She couldn’t believe how shameless they were. They had laughed when they thought they had tricked Dustin, but now that they realized they had lost, they were trying to take it back.
“It’s disgusting!” she thought.
“I don’t care! This Blood Luminianth Root is mine! You have to give it back to me today!” Florence shouted, her anger boiling over like a child throwing a tantrum.
“Dustin! I’m warning you, give us back the Blood Luminianth Root! Or else!” Julie glared at him with fierce eyes. The treasure was enough to drive them crazy.
“You sold it to us willingly. We paid the money. Now that we found out it’s a treasure, you want it back? Do you really think we’ll return it to you?” Dustin replied coldly.
“Stop your nonsense! If you hadn’t tricked us into selling you our Blood Luminianth Root, do you think we would have sold it to you in the first place?” Florence yelled in anger.
“Exactly! You—”
Julie pointed an accusing finger at Dustin. “You knew there was a Blood Luminianth Root inside. Why didn’t you tell us? You tricked us!”
Dustin just laughed, looking at them like they were a couple of fools. “First off, I had no idea there was a Blood Luminianth Root in there. That was just a guess. And why should I tell you if I did know? You two were the ones trying to trick someone else. If you were honest, why would you sell it to me in the first place? You brought this on yourselves!” He spoke calmly, and everyone around him nodded in agreement.
“Exactly! He earned that treasure fairly, using his skills!” someone shouted.
“Yeah! If you followed your own silly logic, the Blood Luminianth Root would belong to Mr. Walter!” another person chimed in.
As the crowd expressed their disapproval, Florence grew angry. “You’re all ganging up on us! I’ll make you pay!” She prepared to lash out.
“Stop! You lost! Why keep complaining? Isn’t that a bit shameful?” Dahlia shouted at Florence.
“How dare you, Dahlia…” Florence was taken aback.
“Why are you just standing there? Go!” Dahlia snapped, her frustration evident on her face.
Lilacier spoke up, “Mom, we’re not getting the treasure back. Let’s just go home and think of another plan.” James quickly tried to calm his mom, knowing how angry his sister could get.
“Listen, Dustin! This isn’t over!” Florence glared at him but knew she couldn’t act on her anger. With one last look, she left the room, clearly unhappy.
Dustin smirked, “So what?”
“Do you have a Blood Luminianth Root? A guy like you wouldn’t live long enough to use it!” Julie said, leaving him with a curse before she walked away.
“Bleh, bleh, bleh!” Ruth mocked as they left.
“Dustin, if you have something valuable, you have to be careful. Robbers will be drawn to you. It’s not easy to keep a treasure safe,” Dahlia warned him, her eyes on him for a moment before she too walked away.
Ruth felt uneasy. “Dustin, did you see the way she looked at you? Are you two still not over each other?”
“What are you talking about?” Dustin rolled his eyes.
“Just be careful! Don’t fall for her tricks!” Ruth warned, narrowing her eyes and showing her sharp canines.
“Ruth, what’s going on in that head of yours? We have the Luminianth Root now, so let’s just go home!” Dustin lightly tapped her on the head.
