“Who did this to my daughter? How could someone be so cruel?” James shouted, his anger boiling over.

“I swear, if I find out who did this, I’ll make them pay!” Florence added, her voice filled with rage.

Seeing Dahlia in her injured state made them both furious and sad.

“Why are you here? We didn’t even call you,” one of them suddenly noticed Dustin standing at the door.

“I came to check on Dahlia,” Dustin said slowly, his face expressionless as he walked into the room.

“Get out! You’re not welcome here!” James yelled, his pent-up anger spilling out.

“Dustin! Tell us the truth. Is my daughter’s injury your fault?” Florence glared at him, demanding answers.

“I don’t know how she was hurt. You should ask Julie instead,” Dustin replied calmly.

“Julie? Where is she? Didn’t she come to the party with my sister? Why isn’t she here?” James frowned, concerned.

“Could Julie be hurt too? Dustin, what is going on? Who hurt my daughter? And where is Julie?” Florence’s face darkened with worry.

“I think it’s better if you don’t find out,” Dustin said, shaking his head.

“If you know something, just tell us! Whoever hurt my sister will pay!” James insisted, furious.

“That’s right! We won’t let them get away with this!” Florence agreed passionately.

“The person who hurt Dahlia is Tina Hummer,” Dustin revealed honestly.

“Tina Hummer? Who is that?” James asked, confused.

“She’s the daughter of Edwin Hummer, the richest man in Swinton,” Dustin explained.

“What?! Sir Hummer’s daughter?!” Everyone was shocked by this news.

They exchanged nervous glances, unsure how to respond. Florence and James felt their anger fade away immediately. If it had been an ordinary person, they would have wanted revenge. But hearing the name Hummer made them hesitate to feel any anger at all.

Florence gulped and said, “We have no issues with the Hummer family. Why would Ms. Hummer treat us so harshly?”

James frowned, deep in thought. “That’s right! My sister was invited to the party. What could she have done to upset Ms. Hummer?”

The others in the room also felt uneasy. The Hummer family was not someone they would dare to challenge. Even if they were wronged, they felt powerless.

“You won’t have to do anything. In three days, I’ll make sure Tina Hummer apologizes to all of you,” Dustin said confidently.

James raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Do you even know what you’re saying? Do you know who Ms. Hummer is? You really think you can get her to apologize? Just look at yourself!”

Florence jumped in, “Exactly! Do you even realize who you are? You just brag all the time! If you really had that kind of power, why didn’t you stop them from hurting my daughter in the first place?”

It was clear they didn’t believe Dustin’s words. After all, Tina was Edwin’s daughter—a true billionaire. They were afraid to provoke her, so they certainly didn’t think a nobody like Dustin could handle it.

Just then, a nurse walked into the room. “You must be the relatives of the patient,” she said. “We just received a notice that the patient will be moved to a VIP ward and receive better care. This will all be free of charge. Will you accept this offer?”

“Free of charge? Of course! Yes, we absolutely accept!” Florence’s eyes lit up as she nodded eagerly.

“Great, please follow me.” The doctor signaled, and a few people entered the room to help move Dahlia to the new ward.

Dustin stood quietly, watching them leave. He had decided to switch to a VIP ward for safety. Although he wasn’t scared of Edwin, he knew that revenge was possible. This was just a precaution.

Just moments after Florence and the others left, Julie rushed into the room.

“Aunt Florence! I have big news! I just saw—”

She stopped suddenly, her eyes widening when she saw Dustin. “You! Why are you here?”

“You came at the right time. I have something to ask you.” Dustin walked toward her slowly.

“D-Don’t come any closer! What do you want? I’m warning you, stay back!” Julie stepped back in fear, remembering the scene earlier when Tina was brutally attacked. To her, Dustin seemed dangerous.

“Why are you so scared? Are you hiding something?” Dustin asked casually.

“You’re the one who should be scared! I have nothing to hide. Why would I be afraid?” Julie replied, trying to sound brave.

“Good. Then let me ask you this: Did you frame Dahlia for stealing at tonight’s party?” Dustin’s tone turned serious.

“That’s ridiculous! We’re cousins! How could I hurt her? Don’t accuse someone innocent!” Panic crossed Julie’s face.

“Accuse someone innocent?” Dustin scoffed. “Then explain how this ended up in Dahlia’s bag.” He tossed a box in front of her, revealing a pair of ruby earrings.

Julie felt panic surge through her as she clung to her lie. “H-How would I know? It’s not me!”

Dustin’s face was expressionless as he replied, “You better think clearly before you answer. Otherwise, you’ll lose your chance.”

“What do you mean? Are you threatening me?” Julie shouted, trying to sound brave as she slowly backed away.

“You have one minute left,” Dustin said, lifting a finger to emphasize his point.

“What are you trying to do? I’m not scared of you!” Julie insisted, her voice steady despite her fear.

“Ten seconds left,” Dustin warned.

“Dustin! I’m warning you.” But before she could finish, footsteps echoed outside the room.

“Boss, I found out that Danlia is in this ward!” a voice called out.

“Good! You, keep a lookout. The others, follow me!” the leader commanded.

Suddenly, several assassins dressed in black rushed into the room.

“Who is Dahlia Nicholson?” the leader asked, scanning the room with a keen gaze.

“She is,” Dustin said, pointing directly at Julie.

In an instant, two swords pressed against Julie’s neck with a sharp “Clang.”

“Bring her!” the leader ordered.
