“What?” Julie’s mind went blank as two swords were pointed at her neck. She couldn’t understand what was happening.

Everything had happened so fast—from the assassins breaking in to Dustin framing her. By the time she collected herself, she realized she was in serious trouble.

“Rhys! How could you do this to me?” Panic surged through her as she realized she might be taken hostage. “Wait, it’s a mistake! I’m not Dahlia; you’ve got the wrong person!”

“Do you think we’re stupid? This man told us you are Dahlia Nicholson!” the leader of the assassins shot back.

“He’s lying! Don’t believe him!” Julie protested, cold sweat trickling down her forehead.

She never imagined Dustin would seek revenge on her in such a cruel way!

“According to our information, Dahlia is in this hospital room. If you aren’t Dahlia, why are you here?” the leader demanded angrily.

“I—I was just passing by!” Julie stammered.

“Damn it! How dare you lie to me? You must be tired of living!” The leader slapped her hard across the cheek, making her ears ring.

“What are you all doing? Take her away!” he ordered.

Some of his men quickly grabbed Julie and started dragging her toward the door.

“It’s not me! It’s really not me! Rhys, you jerk, you framed me! Are you even human?” Julie cried, tears streaming down her face.

She knew that if they took her away, she would face terrible abuse.

“Dustin! I’m sorry! Please save me, I’m begging you! I’ve learned my lesson! For Dahlia and Old Mr. Nicholson, you can’t just stand by! You have to save me!” Julie cried out, desperation filling her voice.

At that moment, only Dustin could help her.

“Shut up, you bitch!” the assassin leader snapped, clearly annoyed by her cries for help. He struck her again, and her heart raced with fear.

Julie staggered backward and fell to the ground, blood trickling from her lips after the slap.

Dustin watched her for a moment before speaking up. “Guys, I’m sorry for the confusion,” he said. “I’ve made a mistake; she is not Dahlia.”

“What did you say?” The assassins froze at his words.

“Punk! How dare you trick me?” the leader glared at Dustin, narrowing his eyes.

“I guess you could say that,” Dustin replied, nodding calmly.

The leader’s face turned red with anger. He charged at Dustin, swinging his heavy blade with all his might. His movements were quick and powerful, showing he was a skilled martial artist, much better than an average person.

But Dustin didn’t move to dodge. Instead, he blocked the attack with his bare hands and kicked the leader hard in the stomach. The leader screamed in pain and flew out the door.

“How dare you hurt our leader? You’re dead meat!” shouted the other three assassins as they threw Julie aside and rushed to attack Dustin all at once.

Before they could reach him, Dustin launched a flying kick, knocking their heads together. They collapsed to the ground, unconscious.

“Who is this monster?” the last assassin, who had been guarding the door, gasped. Terrified after seeing what happened to his friends, he turned and ran away as fast as he could. Four of his companions were out of commission, and he didn’t want to find out what Dustin would do to him.

“Dustin, you…” Julie said, her eyes wide in shock.

She had no idea Dustin was such a skilled fighter. In just moments, he had taken down four assassins. Relief washed over her; she was grateful he was there to save her. But then she remembered that it was because of Dustin that she was in this situation in the first place.

“You’re mistaken if you think I’m Dahlia,” Julie said, her anger flaring up once more.

“Confess to Dahlia about what happened today. Remember, there won’t be another chance,” Dustin said, looking down at her.

“I’ll let you off this time, Rhys, but don’t get too cocky! Edwin will come after you now that you’ve hurt Ms. Hummer! You’ll be chased out of Swinton!” Julie clenched her teeth, filled with rage.

“You’ve got it all wrong. It’s not the Hummers who will come after me; it’ll be me going after them. The Hummers owe a public apology for the attack,” Dustin replied casually.

“A public apology? Have you lost your mind? What right do you have to ask the Hummer family for an apology?” Julie scoffed.

“Believe it or not, it’s up to you,” Dustin shrugged.

“We’ll see how long you can keep that up! I hope you don’t embarrass yourself in front of Edwin Hummer!” Julie laughed sarcastically as she turned to leave.

Chapter 13

Dustin didn’t care about her words. Instead, he dragged the leader of the assassins into the hospital room.

“Did Edwin send you?” he asked.

“What’s it to you?” the leader sneered, gritting his teeth.

“How many of you are there?” Dustin pressed calmly.

“The White Dragon guild is full of skilled fighters and martial artists. Five of us were sent to scout ahead. If you want to live, it’s best to surrender now!” the leader threatened.

“I’ve never heard of the White Dragon guild,” Dustin said, shaking his head.

“That’s because you’re clueless!” the leader smirked.

“Kid, if I were you, I’d leave Swinton right now. Otherwise, you’ll be sitting ducks when our guild master arrives!”

“Really? I’ll be waiting for him, then,” Dustin said with a smile.

With a loud crack, he twisted the neck of the assassin’s leader, and the man fell dead instantly.

Just then, a group of intimidating bodyguards appeared at the end of the corridor.

Stephan was in the lead!

“Greetings, Mr. Rhys!” Stephan walked up to Dustin and gave a slight bow. “Ms. Harmon sent us to assist you. If you need anything, just let us know.”

“Thanks for the offer, Mr. Chapman,” Dustin replied with a nod. “There are a few unconscious assassins here. Please take care of their bodies.”

“Of course.” Stephan signaled to his men, and they quickly began to carry the bodies away.

“By the way, what do you know about the White Dragon guild?” Dustin asked.

“The White Dragon guild is one of the top three guilds in Swinton. Its members mostly include thugs and criminals from the underworld. They take orders from Edwin and are involved in illegal activities,” Stephan explained.

“I see,” Dustin nodded.

“Also, the White Dragon guild has many skilled fighters, especially their leader, Dracor Millroy. He’s one of the best martial artists in Swinton. They say his skin is so tough that swords can’t cut him, thanks to his advanced martial arts training. It would be wise to avoid a fight with him,” Stephan warned.

“Thanks for the advice. I know what to do,” Dustin said casually.

He was eager to find out what it would be like to spar with the best martial artist in Swinton.
