An Understated Dominance - Chapter 159
The doctors surrounded Dustin, clearly upset. “Young man, who taught you your skills? How dare you brag in front of everyone?” Malcolm looked him over with a frown.
In all his years of practicing medicine, no one had ever doubted him, especially not a young rookie like Dustin!
“Hah! You think too highly of yourself! How dare you act superior in front of Dr. Shane? You’re really asking for trouble!” Xavier said with hostility.
“Listen, I don’t know where you got the confidence to question Dr. Shane, but please leave. Don’t interrupt him while he’s trying to save my daughter!” Caden said firmly, annoyance clear on his face. How could this guy take advantage of his kindness?
“There’s no need to kick him out. Let him stay and watch. Since he doubts my skills, I’ll show him what I can do!” Malcolm said, standing tall with his hands behind his back.
“Just like Dr. Shane! He carries himself with such dignity and confidence!” The other doctors praised him excessively.
Since Malcolm had spoken, Caden decided not to argue and allowed Dustin to stay.
“I’m really sorry for bringing you here for nothing, buddy. If Sheila turns out okay, I’ll talk to Caden about the Gozoraberry and see if you can have it,” Lily said, pulling Dustin aside with a sincere apology.
She knew he was the one who had saved her daughter and felt she owed him a debt of gratitude.
“I’d appreciate that, Mrs. Murray,” Dustin replied, his expression softening. Finally, someone in the family was making sense.
“Dr. Shane, let’s not waste any more time. Please proceed,” Caden said, waving him over.
Malcolm nodded and sat next to Sheila’s bed, checking her pulse carefully.
After a short while, he confidently announced, “If I’m not mistaken, the
Sheila was feeling weak and had poor circulation because of the coldness inside her. This coldness had also caused toxins to build up in her body. Once these toxins and the coldness were removed, she would be alright.
Caden looked at Dr. Shane with hope. “Do you have a way to help her?” he asked.
“It’s a bit tricky, but it’s no problem for me,” Malcolm replied with a light smile. “I’ll use acupuncture to get rid of the coldness and toxins.”
He took out several needles and quickly placed them in specific spots on Sheila’s body: the back of her neck, her navel, below her knees, on the bottoms of her feet, and along her back. His movements were so quick and skillful that everyone watching was amazed.
By the time he finished, cold air began to escape from Sheila’s limbs.
“For the last one!” Malcolm pulled out a thicker, longer needle and carefully inserted it on top of Sheila’s head. Soon, mist started to rise from her skin, filling the room with an eerie chill.
“Alright, the coldness is gone now. The patient should start feeling better soon,” Malcolm announced confidently.
Caden’s earlier worry disappeared as he exclaimed, “No wonder you’re a world-renowned healer! Your acupuncture is truly magical!”
“That’s right! With Dr. Shane here, any illness can be cured!” Xavier smiled widely.
Claudia turned to Dustin, challenging him with her gaze. “Do you admit defeat?” she asked, looking down her nose at him.
“Who does he think he is doubting Dr. Shane?” she thought angrily.
Dustin shook his head, looking at her with disdain. “Sheila was suffering from Polarfrost! That’s a rare condition,” he replied, showing his disbelief.
It was a rare condition that appeared only once every hundred years. Dustin couldn’t understand how it could be so easily treated. While everyone else was happy, Lily sensed something was wrong. “The coldness is gone, but why does Sheila look even paler than before?” she thought.
Chapter 159
A group of doctors surrounded Dustin, clearly upset with him.
“Young man, where did you learn your skills? How dare you brag in front of everyone?” Malcolm glared at him, clearly displeased. In all his years of practicing medicine, he had never been doubted, especially not by someone so inexperienced.
“You’re overestimating yourself! How can you act so important in front of Dr. Shane? You’re just asking for trouble!” Xavier chimed in, sounding hostile.
“Young man, I don’t know why you think you can question Dr. Shane, but I ask you to leave. You are interrupting him while he tries to save my daughter!” Caden said sternly, his annoyance evident. How could this guy take advantage of the situation?
“There’s no need to kick him out. Let him stay and watch. If he doubts my abilities, I will show him what I can do!” Malcolm said confidently, standing tall with his hands behind his back.
“That’s right, Dr. Shane! You carry yourself with such dignity!” the other doctors praised him excessively.
Since Malcolm had spoken, Caden decided not to oppose him and allowed Dustin to stay.
“I’m really sorry you had to come here for nothing, buddy. If Sheila turns out fine, I’ll talk to Caden about the Gozoraberry and see if you can have it,” Lily said, pulling Dustin aside and apologizing sincerely. She knew she owed him for saving her daughter and wanted to repay him.
Chapter 159
Dustin felt relieved when Mrs. Murray agreed to help. Finally, someone in the family was making sense.
“Dr. Shane, let’s not wait any longer. Please go ahead,” Caden urged, waving him over.
Malcolm nodded and sat down next to Sheila’s bed. He checked her pulse carefully.
After a moment, he spoke confidently, “If I’m right, the patient is weak and has poor circulation because her body is too cold. The toxins inside her have built up. Once we get rid of the cold and toxins, she will be just fine.”
Caden looked hopeful. “And I assume you have a way to do that, Dr. Shane?”
“It’s a bit tricky, but I can handle it. I’ll use acupuncture to remove the cold and toxins from her body!” Malcolm said with a light smile.
He pulled out several needles and quickly placed them into Sheila’s skin: on the back of her neck, around her belly button, below her knees, on the soles of her feet, and along her back.
His swift and skilled movements amazed everyone watching.
By the time he finished, cold air began to escape from Sheila’s limbs.
“For the final touch!” Malcolm took out a thicker, longer needle and inserted it right on top of Sheila’s head.
Suddenly, mist started to rise from her skin, enveloping the room in a strange chill.
“Okay, the coldness is gone now. The patient will be waking up soon,” Malcolm announced confidently.
Caden, who had been anxious just moments before, was now filled with excitement. “No wonder you’re a world-renowned healer. Your acupuncture is like magic!”
In an instant, everything changed.
“That’s right! With Dr. Shane here, any disease or condition can be easily handled!” Xavier beamed with confidence. He turned to Dustin and said, “Hey, do you admit defeat?”
Claudia, feeling bold, lifted her chin at Dustin, challenging him.
“How dare he doubt Dr. Shane? He clearly doesn’t understand who he’s dealing with!” Claudia thought to herself.
Dustin shook his head, looking at her with disdain.
“Sheila had Polarfrost, a rare condition that only appears about once every hundred years! There’s no way it could be cured so easily,” he thought.
While everyone else celebrated, Lily sensed something was off. “Wait, hasn’t the coldness been removed? Why does Sheila look even paler than before?” she wondered.
