An Understated Dominance - Chapter 161
Everyone watched in amazement as Dustin used the fiery beetle on Sheila.
As soon as it entered her body, the change was instant. The cold air around her began to fade, and in less than three minutes, she went from feeling icy cold to a normal temperature.
Color returned to her cheeks, and her breathing became steady. Then, to everyone’s surprise, she whimpered and opened her eyes.
“Is she awake?” People in the crowd gasped in disbelief.
It was hard to believe that someone like Dustin could cure Sheila when even Dr. Shane had failed.
“This is incredible!” Xavier exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock. How could an unknown doctor have such amazing abilities?
“How did he do it?” Claudia asked, both fascinated and scared. She struggled to understand how something she thought was evil could actually heal someone.
“I had no idea the mystic arts could have such incredible effects!” Malcolm said, his eyes shining with admiration for Dustin’s talent. His unusual approach to healing was truly groundbreaking.
Malcolm, who once felt he had reached the limits of his medical knowledge, suddenly felt a spark of hope again.
“Sheila! How are you feeling? Do you feel any discomfort?” Caden and Lily asked, joyfully surprised. They hadn’t expected much, so witnessing this miracle was overwhelming.
“Dad, Mom, it’s so strange! I don’t feel cold anymore. It’s like it disappeared!” Sheila said, patting herself in disbelief. She had never felt this warm before.
“That’s amazing! That’s absolutely amazing!”
“You saved her! Thank you so much!” Lily exclaimed, so happy that she almost bowed to Dustin in gratitude.
“Mrs. Murray, please don’t bow!” Dustin said, gently stopping her. He wasn’t used to such open expressions of thanks.
“Did you save me, kind sir?” Sheila asked, her face lighting up at the sight of Dustin.
Just one day had passed since they last met. Was this fate?
“It’s all thanks to Mr. Rhys that you’re still alive, Sheila! If not for him, you might still be unconscious,” Lily added.
—
“Thank you, kind sir!” Sheila said, bowing deeply.
“You’re welcome. After all, it’s my job to save people,” Dustin replied with a smile.
“Is my daughter completely cured, young man?” Caden asked carefully.
He had talked to many well-known doctors about Sheila’s condition, and they all said it could only be managed, not completely cured. He needed to be sure.
“I can’t say she’s completely cured, but she won’t have any problems for the next 10 years,” Dustin assured him.
“Why only 10 years? Can’t you make it go away completely?” Caden frowned.
“It’s Polarfrost. It’s not easy to get rid of. Unless you can find some very rare herbs to improve her circulation and metabolism, the only option is to use the fiery beetle, which can only extend her life for ten years,” Dustin explained.
“Ten years is good enough,” Lily said with a smile. “At least we have more time to find other solutions.”
It was already a relief that her daughter’s life had been extended by ten years. She didn’t want to ask for more.
“Mr. Murray, now that your daughter’s life is safe, can we discuss the deal?” Dustin said, getting straight to the point.
“It’s the Gozoraberry you want, isn’t it? Please head to the lounge. I’ll join you soon,” Caden said with a smile.
