“Sure,” Dustin replied, following the butler to the lounge. He took a seat and waited. The wait felt long.

After finishing his third cup of tea, Caden finally arrived with a group of men. “I really appreciate you saving my daughter, young man. Here’s a ten-million-dollar check. Consider this your payment.” Caden sat down and gestured to one of his men, who handed a check to Dustin.

“What? Thank you for the offer, Mr. Murray, but this isn’t what I want,” Dustin said, looking confused.

“It doesn’t matter what you want. What matters is that this is your payment for a job well done,” Caden replied, taking a sip of his tea.

“What do you mean by that?” Dustin narrowed his eyes.

“Don’t you understand? The Gozoraberry isn’t yours. You’re only getting the money,” Caden explained plainly.

“Mr. Murray, we had a deal. I cure your daughter, and you give me the Gozoraberry. Why are you backing out?” Dustin’s face darkened.

“It would be a waste to give you such a valuable item, so I decided to give it to someone else,” Caden justified his decision.

“Who else but me?” Xavier strode in confidently, holding a small red wooden box that contained the Gozoraberry.

“Hey, buddy! Uncle Caden’s…”

“Give me the Gozoraberry. It’s mine now!” Xavier said, patting the box with a smug grin.

“So what if that rascal stole the spotlight today? In the end, I’m the one who benefits! He’s just a lowly peasant,” Xavier thought to himself.

“How could you, Caden Murray, turn your back on someone who has helped you? You carry the honor of the Murray family! Aren’t you afraid of being ridiculed?” Dustin slammed his hand on the table, standing up in anger.

Dustin understood why Caden had changed his mind before. It was about his daughter’s health, and Malcolm was known for his expertise, which made Caden trust him. But now, things were different.

Caden was going back on his word after Dustin had saved Sheila, and that was unacceptable!

“Enough! Take the money and leave, or I’ll have my men throw you out!” Caden shouted, losing his patience. How dare this peasant defy him?

“What? Are you threatening me now?” Dustin replied, meeting his gaze.

“Yes, we are! I warn you, Rhys, get out of here now, or I’ll make you!” Xavier yelled.
