An Understated Dominance - Chapter 165
Dustin ran his fingers over his lips, enjoying the scent that lingered there. He felt his face heat up. It was so embarrassing to have a kiss taken in public!
“Hmph!” A scoffing sound came from the door. When Dustin looked up, he saw Dahlia walking away, obviously upset. She jumped into her car, stepped on the gas, and drove off in a flash.
“Was that—Dahlia?” Natasha asked with a teasing smile. “Looks like it,” Dustin replied, feeling a bit dazed.
“Aren’t you going to chase after her and explain what she just saw?” Natasha raised an eyebrow. “What’s there to explain? We’re divorced! I’m not cheating on her,” Dustin said firmly.
“You have a point there,” Natasha said with a smile. “You’re with me now, so why bother explaining anything to anyone else?” She thought to herself.
While they were talking, another car pulled up at the entrance.
The door opened, and a stocky man walked in. It was Malcolm Shane. He looked around as he entered.
“Hey, isn’t that Dr. Shane? What’s he doing here?” Natasha was surprised.
Dr. Malcolm Shane was famous nationwide and known as one of the best in acupuncture. He was always in high demand among the wealthy and powerful.
“Mr. Rhys! I can’t believe you’re here!” Malcolm’s eyes locked onto Dustin as soon as he entered, and he smiled widely.
“Dr. Shane, it’s an honor to have you here. What brings you today?” Dustin asked, confused.
“Mr. Rhys, the treatment you did with the venomous insect was truly impressive! That’s why I’m here. I’d like to seek your advice and learn from you. I hope you can share some of your knowledge with me,” Malcolm said humbly.
Even Natasha was amazed. The renowned Dr. Shane wanted to learn from Dustin!
Dr. Shane had come to seek advice from Dustin, and she couldn’t believe her eyes. Was it really true? She knew how skilled Dustin was, but seeing someone like Dr. Shane ask for his help was surprising.
“Dr. Shane, you’re too kind,” Dustin said, waving his hands in modesty. “You have so much more experience than I do. I’m not sure I can offer you any real advice, but I’ll help however I can.”
It was impressive that someone like Malcolm would ask for guidance. Most people in his position would never consider seeking help from someone like Dustin.
“Please, don’t be so humble, Mr. Rhys. Your medical skills are exceptional. I feel embarrassed about my own shortcomings, especially in the mystical arts. I really admire your expertise,” Malcolm said, a bit hesitantly.
“If you’re interested in the mystic arts, I have a book that might help,” Dustin responded. He opened a drawer and pulled out an old manuscript. “This book has various methods on how the mystic arts can be used in medicine. You’re welcome to study it.”
“Wow! Thank you so much, Mr. Rhys!” Malcolm exclaimed, his excitement evident as he took the manuscript and began to flip through the pages.
The deeper he read, the more enthralled he became. The knowledge was so rich and complex that he lost himself in it completely.
“Dr. Shane, since Dustin gave you a book, shouldn’t you return the favor?” Natasha teased, wanting to make sure no one took advantage of Dustin’s generosity.
“Oh, right! I almost forgot!” Malcolm said, patting his pockets until he finally found a set of golden needles.
“Mr. Rhys, these golden needles are made from mystical gold. They are very strong and can’t be damaged by fire or water. I’ve had them for 10 years. They are quite rare, and I hope you will accept them.”
“Um—”
“Thank you, Dr. Shane!” Before Dustin could say no, Natasha had already taken the needles with a big smile.
Golden needles made of mystical gold! These are what many doctors dream of! They were like a treasure! She saw no reason to turn them down!
