An Understated Dominance - Chapter 172
The atmosphere at the Harmon family’s press conference was lively. Just as Natasha thought everything was going well, a scream pierced through the crowd.
Everyone turned to see an old man lying on the ground, shaking and foaming at the mouth. In moments, he was unconscious.
“Dad! What’s wrong? Please wake up!” shouted a middle-aged man nearby, panic in his voice.
“I’m a doctor. Let me check him,” a bald man said as he rushed forward. He quickly checked the old man’s breathing and pulse. With a heavy sigh, he shook his head. “He’s gone.”
“Gone?” The crowd gasped at the news.
“How could this happen? He seemed fine just a moment ago,” someone murmured.
“Who knows? He looked healthy. It’s strange that he died so suddenly,” another voice added.
“Could it be a heart attack?” someone suggested.
Whispers filled the air, filled with suspicion.
“No way! My dad couldn’t have died! We always made sure he had checkups, and he was always healthy!” The middle-aged man cried.
“It looks like he might have been poisoned. Did he eat anything earlier?” the bald doctor asked.
“We didn’t eat anything today,” the man replied, but then he suddenly remembered something. “Wait! My dad took Immortunol earlier, and now he’s dead! The medicine must be toxic!”
“Toxic?” The crowd gasped again. After all, they had all taken the same medicine earlier.
“How could this be?” Natasha frowned, worried.
This incident at the press conference was troubling. Whether the old man’s death was related to Immortunol or not, it could severely affect Harmon Pharmaceutical’s reputation.
The label “toxic” would ruin Immortunol’s chances of being sold at all.
“It’s all your fault! You killed my father by selling fake medicine! You owe me his life!” A middle-aged man shouted angrily at Natasha.
He lunged at her, but the Harmon family’s bodyguards quickly stopped him.
“The cause of your father’s death is still unclear. We need to investigate if it’s related to Immortunol,” Natasha replied firmly.
“There’s nothing to investigate! Everyone saw it happen. My father was healthy before he took your medicine. After he took it, he died suddenly!” the man yelled.
“You killed my father! You wicked businesswoman! You took his life!” He knelt beside the body, crying hard.
“My poor father, you died for no reason! I’m sorry I couldn’t avenge you. I hope you get justice from the heavens!”
It was a heartbreaking scene that brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
As the man cried, the crowd’s attitude towards Natasha changed from respect to scorn.
“Natasha! I had no idea you were so despicable. For money, you would sell fake medicine!” Quentin shouted, standing up in anger.
“Stop saying nonsense. Immortunol is not poisonous,” Natasha responded, her brow furrowing.
“Then how do you explain the old man’s sudden death after taking your medicine?” Quentin pressed further.
Natasha struggled to find a response.
“The old man’s death has nothing to do with Immortunol,” Dustin interjected, having observed quietly from the side.
“Who are you to say that the medicine is innocent?” Quentin shot back coldly.
“I can prove that the medicine didn’t cause his death. If you don’t believe me, I can ask the old man myself,” Dustin said confidently.
She moved forward with a calm expression.
