When the old man suddenly sat up, all the guests were shocked. Some women screamed in panic, losing their cool.

“It’s a zombie!” someone shouted. The crowd quickly scattered in all directions. No one had expected the still body to come back to life.

It was a terrifying moment! “Dad? Y–you’re not dead?” a middle-aged man pretended to be shocked.

“Yes, I’m not dead,” the old man replied, forcing a smile. His voice was unclear because his dentures had fallen out, and his cheeks were swollen, making him look quite silly.

“Oh my god! This young man could even bring the dead back to life! How is that possible?”

“I can’t believe what I’m seeing!” said another guest. “Is this how doctors work now?”

The hall was filled with chaos as people stared at the old man, who was clearly alive. Some were shocked, while others were curious.

“Hey, I saved your father’s life! Is it too much to ask for a thank you?” Dustin grinned.

“You jerk! Even if my father survived, it’s just luck! That Immortunol is still poisonous!” the middle-aged man yelled angrily.

“That’s right! I felt terrible after taking your medicine. I’m still sore all over!” the old man added, looking upset.

After such a rough experience, he was determined to get some compensation from Dustin.

“Oh? Where else do you feel discomfort? Let me take a look,” Dustin said as he stepped closer.

The old man quickly backed away. “What are you doing? Stay away from me!”

“Don’t worry! You’re not fully healed yet since you just woke up. Let me check you so you can recover completely,” Dustin said, trying to reassure him.

Dustin smiled.

“Dustin, the knife you wanted is here!” Ruth shouted as she rushed over, holding a large kitchen knife she had found.

“Perfect timing! It’s bigger than what I usually use, but it will work just right for cracking open a skull,” Dustin said, swinging the knife playfully.

“Crack open my skull?!” The old man shook in fear. “Son, we need to go to the hospital right away for a check-up!”

“Oh right! We should go to the hospital first!” The middle-aged man quickly helped the old man to his feet, trying to sneak away.

“Did I say you could leave?” Dustin stepped forward and grabbed the old man by his hair, pulling him back. “I always do my best for my patients, even after they’re gone. I can’t ignore you when you’re so sick!” He waved the kitchen knife back and forth.

“Please don’t! I’m not sick; I’ve already recovered!” The old man trembled with fear.

“Don’t be stubborn. Your illness is serious. Everyone saw it just now,” Dustin insisted.

“That’s right, old man. If you’re sick, you need treatment. You shouldn’t refuse his help!” someone in the crowd chimed in.

“Yes, this young man knows his stuff. Trust him; you’ll be fine!” others encouraged the old man.

“I’m fine; really, I am!” The old man shook his head wildly, tears streaming down his face.

“Lie down and don’t move. Let me see where to start,” Dustin said firmly.

“Make the incision,” Dustin commanded, holding the old man down firmly.

“Let him go! You’re going to kill him!” shouted a middle-aged man, panicking as he tried to intervene, but several bodyguards held him back.

“According to my diagnosis, you’re in serious trouble! Let’s start by opening your skull, and then we’ll move on to your abdomen…” Dustin paused, raising his knife.

“Wait! I’m not sick! I was paid to pretend to be dead!” The old man finally confessed, realizing his life was in danger.

“Paid off?”

“Pretended to be dead?”

As soon as the crowd heard this, they turned red with anger.

“What a bunch of scammers! How dare you cause trouble here?”

“I can’t believe I felt sorry for you! You’re all liars!”

“Young man, just get rid of them. They deserve it!”

The crowd erupted into chaos, with some people threatening violence.

“Who hired you?” Dustin pressed the knife against the old man’s neck.

“I don’t know! We were just paid to do this!” The old man trembled.

“Please spare us! We won’t do it again!” the middle-aged man pleaded, terrified.

Once their true nature was revealed, the two scoundrels lost all their bravado.

“Take these troublemakers away!” Natasha ordered, and they were quickly escorted out.

She didn’t need to ask further; she already knew who was behind this scheme.

“Useless fools!” Edwin scoffed from the crowd as he walked away, realizing he had failed.

“I can’t believe it’s over,” Quentin said, his face pale with despair.

The first spark of hope quickly faded away. If Immortunol was launched successfully, how would he sell his Eternumax? He had invested all his money into it!

“Dustin, how did you know that old man was faking his death? I thought he was really gone,” Ruth asked, curious.

“That old man was just holding his breath. I know a lot of tricks that scammers use, so it was easy for me to see through it,” Dustin said with a slight smile.

“Oh, I get it now. Thank goodness you figured it out, or today would have been a disaster!” Ruth said, patting her chest in relief.

“Mr. Rhys, you are truly impressive! You uncovered the lies of those two thugs without breaking a sweat! I admire you greatly!” Malcolm chimed in, eager to flatter Dustin.

Sitting quietly wasn’t really Malcolm’s style.

“Dr. Shane, he just got lucky. Why are you praising him?” Jessica shot Dustin a cold look before turning to Dr. Shane. “If it weren’t for your help in creating Immortunol, the Harmon family would be in big trouble! You’re the real hero here!”

“What are you talking about? Who said I made Immortunol?” Malcolm frowned.

“What?” Jessica was taken aback. “Who else could have done it but you?”

“You really don’t see talent! The real genius behind Immortunol is Mr. Rhys, right next to you!” Malcolm rolled his eyes.

“What?” Jessica was stunned by this revelation.
