An Understated Dominance - Chapter 177
“You attacked out of turn!” Nigel shouted, holding his bleeding nose and glaring at the leader of the assassins.
He was frustrated. He hadn’t even gotten a chance to impress Ruth! Where were his manners?
“It’s your fault for getting distracted in battle! Do you want to die?” the leader scoffed.
“Scumbag, you’re getting on my nerves! I’ll give you one last chance to kneel and beg for mercy. If not, I’ll kick you in the rear!” Nigel shot back, glaring fiercely.
With that, Nigel leaped into the air, performing a somersault that looked quite impressive.
“Arrogant fool!” The leader’s eyes turned cold as he and his remaining men charged at Nigel.
“Be careful, Mr. Lincoln!” the girls gasped in shock.
“Don’t overestimate yourself!” Nigel replied confidently, stepping back to prepare for his special move.
He spun around like a top, attacking the assassins with fierce energy.
His kicks were powerful and relentless; anyone who got close to him was knocked down easily, like a line of dominoes. Even the leader couldn’t withstand Nigel’s strikes and was sent flying.
In just a minute, all the assassins were defeated.
For that moment, Nigel looked unbeatable!
“Wow, Nigel is amazing!” one girl exclaimed.
“Oh my goodness, his fighting technique is out of this world!” another added.
“As expected of Mr. Lincoln; he’s truly a terrifying martial artist!” someone else said.
Looking at the defeated assassins lying on the ground, everyone started showering Nigel with compliments. Their eyes sparkled with admiration for their hero.
“This victory isn’t a big deal. They were just small fries!” Nigel said, standing with his hands behind his back, trying to act casual.
But he couldn’t help stealing a glance at Ruth, a proud smile on his face.
“Mr. Lincoln, you were amazing! You make us all feel safe just by being here! Any girl would be lucky to have you as a boyfriend!” The girl in yellow said, her hands on her chest as she looked up at Nigel with admiration.
“Thank you, but you’re just flattering me,” Nigel replied with a modest smile.
“It’s only natural for a man to protect a woman. Unlike some cowards who hide and depend on women for protection, I believe in standing up,” Nigel added, giving Dustin a pointed look.
“Hey! Didn’t you have a sharp tongue? Why aren’t you saying anything now? Are you dumb?” the girl in yellow sneered, looking at Dustin with disdain.
“If you ask me, someone here talks a big game but does nothing. He acts all proud, but when trouble comes, he runs away first,” she continued.
“Ruth, it’s clear which choice is better now, right? If it wasn’t for Mr. Lincoln, we wouldn’t have been able to fight off those attackers,” another friend chimed in.
“That’s right! When looking for a boyfriend, we should choose a real man like Mr. Lincoln! Forget about the guy next to you. What good is a cowardly man?”
As everyone whispered about them, it was clear that Nigel’s bravery stood out while Dustin’s lack of action made him look weak.
“Dustin, why didn’t you do anything just now?” Ruth asked, frowning at the harsh comments around her. She knew that Dustin was skilled in martial arts, even if he wasn’t as strong as Nigel. Dealing with a few petty assassins shouldn’t have been a problem for him.
“These small fries don’t…”
“Interest me,” Dustin said casually.
“Small fries? You might be a coward, but your words are anything but!”
“Just admit it—you’re pathetic. How dare you make excuses for yourself?”
“He only talks big, but he’s really just a coward!”
“What a wimp, a disgusting loser!”
Dustin should have stayed quiet. Every word he said only brought more scorn.
“Punk, it’s clear you don’t have the guts or the skills to fight. Why pretend to be tough? If you kneel down and beg, I might teach you a few moves so you won’t be scared next time,” Nigel sneered.
“If you’re so tough, then take down those two behind you,” Dustin said, nodding toward the door.
Nigel turned, surprised to see two more men standing there.
Both were bald, one in green and the other in black. They were big and muscular, with fierce eyes and bulging biceps.
“Oh! Who are these two men who aren’t afraid to die?” Nigel scoffed.
“Did you hurt our guys?” the bald man in green asked first.
“Yeah, that was me. What are you going to do about it? Want to feel my roundhouse kick too?” Nigel replied arrogantly.
“Roundhouse kick? Ha! You’re trash!” the bald man in green laughed.
“Fool! How dare you underestimate me? Today, you’ll see my special move: the Whirlwind Kick!” Nigel said as he jumped into the air.
Spinning around, he kicked up a fierce tornado that looked impressive.
The girls watching were amazed by his moves.
“Mr. Lincoln, go for it!”
“Take them down!”
Cheering him on, they admired Nigel’s display.
Gathering his strength, Nigel aimed a powerful blow at the bald man’s head.
A dull thud echoed through the room. However, the bald man didn’t budge.
The man in green stood completely unharmed after the attack. He didn’t even flinch, just tilted his head slightly.
In stark contrast, Nigel was in bad shape. His bones were broken, and he couldn’t feel his body at all.
“You-!” Nigel stammered, his face filled with disbelief. He had used all his strength in the attack, but it hadn’t even scratched his opponent’s defenses. Instead, the force of his own strike had shattered his leg.
What kind of monster was this man?
“Whirlwind Kick? Is that all you’ve got?” the bald man in green mocked, grabbing Nigel’s leg.
With a swift motion, he tossed Nigel into the air, sending him crashing into the ceiling.
When Nigel’s body fell back down, it hit the ground hard, like a bug being squashed.
Before he could recover, the bald man slammed Nigel’s face into the floor with a loud bang, causing cracks to spread across the ground.
Blood poured from Nigel’s mouth and nose, and he couldn’t even scream in pain. His body was badly injured, covered in fractures.
“You’re not even worth my time!” the bald man in green sneered, looking down at Nigel with disdain.
Everyone watching was stunned. They stared in shock at Nigel, who lay motionless on the ground.
