An Understated Dominance - Chapter 182
Even though she said otherwise, deep down, she knew her father would always side with Xavier because he liked him so much. In a wealthy family, personal happiness often took a backseat to what was best for the family.
“Alright. We all know Uncle Caden loves you, so he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to you,” Ruth said, deciding not to press for more answers.
“Let’s go home and take a nice nap, Ruth,” Dustin yawned. He gathered his golden needles and turned to leave, but then he heard a voice behind him.
“Running away already?” Xavier sneered, his face twisted with rage.
Before Dustin could react, Xavier lunged at him and stabbed him with a knife!
“Just die already!” Xavier shouted angrily, pushing the blade harder into Dustin’s back.
“Behind you!” Ruth and Sheila screamed in shock. Everyone else was stunned by Xavier’s sudden attack, not expecting him to turn on Dustin like that.
“Oh?” Dustin said, stopping in his tracks. He slowly turned to face Xavier’s wild eyes. “You want to kill me?”
“So what if you die? I can get rid of trash like you whenever I want!” Xavier laughed maniacally, pushing the knife deeper.
But then something strange happened. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t push the knife in any further.
“Since you said you want my blood, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Dustin said, grabbing Xavier by the neck and lifting him off the ground.
“Urgh!” Xavier gasped, his face turning red as he struggled to escape Dustin’s grip, kicking wildly in the air.
“Dustin!”
“Let him go right now!” Claudia shouted, her face filled with shock, as she struggled with a strong urge to harm him.
“But he wants to kill me! Are you telling me to just stand here and let him do it?” Dustin replied, tilting his head and his eyes icy cold.
“I don’t care! You can’t hurt Xavier, no matter what. If you do, you’ll make enemies of all three of our families!” Claudia warned.
“Exactly! Just let go of Xavier! You really don’t want to see me angry!” Nigel added.
“Mr. Horst isn’t someone you can mess with, Dustin. Just admit you were wrong, and maybe he’ll forgive you,” another voice chimed in.
“Can’t you see what’s happening? Just let Mr. Horst stab you if it calms him down. That way, this will all be over. If you fight back, you and your family will face serious trouble in the future!”
“Right! In this world, strength doesn’t matter as much as power. Just kneel and apologize to Xavier. It’s not shameful if it helps you survive,” someone else said.
The crowd around them erupted in shouts, scolding Dustin.
Even though they knew Xavier was in the wrong, they recognized he held all the power. At that moment, it didn’t matter who was right or wrong.
“Do you hear that, Rhys? I’m not someone you can just cross. So what if you can fight? You’re just a weak martial artist. One word from me, and your entire family will vanish! So kneel and bow to me now. If you manage to please me, maybe I’ll spare your life!” Xavier sneered, convinced of his own power.
Dustin smirked and asked, “What makes you so sure I won’t dare to kill you?”
Xavier shot back, “Do you really think you could? If you touch even a single hair on my head, I’ll make sure your whole family is wiped out! Go on, kill me! You keep saying how powerful you are! So, do it! Let’s see if you actually have the guts to—”
Before he could finish, Dustin interrupted him with a swift smack that broke his neck.
Xavier died instantly.
