“Why don’t you get a better brain in your next life?” Dustin sneered as he looked down at Xavier’s lifeless body. With one swift motion, he tossed Xavier aside as if he were just a piece of trash.

Xavier’s body landed with a heavy thud near Claudia and the others.

Xavier’s face was frozen in fear and disbelief. Even in death, he couldn’t understand why Dustin had dared to attack him.

Everyone gasped, paralyzed with shock as they stared at the body at their feet. No one knew how to react to what had just happened.

How could a well-respected heir from a wealthy family, someone admired by an entire city, lose his life so abruptly?

After a moment of stunned silence, chaos broke out among the crowd.

“Are you out of your mind, Dustin?! D—d—did you really just kill Xavier?” Claudia shouted, her face a mix of shock and horror as she stared at Dustin like he was a lunatic.

Dustin’s act of killing Xavier felt like a peasant murdering a king—utterly treacherous and heartless.

“You’ve crossed a line, you bastard! You’ve really done it this time!” someone yelled.

“Since you killed Xavier, you’ll have nowhere to hide! The Horst family will come for you! They’ll want revenge on you, your family, and your friends. Anyone you care about will be in danger, and they’ll follow you to your grave!” Nigel said in a panic.

“He’s lost it! This guy has completely lost his mind!” someone else exclaimed.

“The Horst family has a long history of martial arts and their influence reaches all over South City. They have many followers, so…”

“You’ve made yourself an enemy of countless disciples by committing such a terrible act!”

“Do you even understand what you’ve done? How could you kill Mr. Horst? Not even God can save you now!”

The crowd erupted in chaos. No one expected Dustin to be bold enough to take a life. Did he really want to end his own?

“As long as you don’t cross me, I won’t retaliate. But if you do, I’ll give you the same treatment,” Dustin said calmly.

“Horst wanted to kill me, so I had to make sure he couldn’t,” he explained, his face showing no emotion.

“You’re insane! You madman! You will definitely regret this!” Claudia shouted, still reeling from the shocking turn of events. She looked at him as if he were already dead.

“I never regret my actions. If the Horst family wants revenge, they can come for me anytime,” Dustin replied sharply before turning to leave.

“Hey, wait for me! You were so brave tonight, Brother-in-law! But Xavier is no small threat. I doubt this will end well for you. Don’t worry though, with the Harmon family’s help, we can handle this!” Ruth called out, running to catch up with him.

“Don’t worry about it. I dealt the killing blow, so I’m not afraid of his family seeking revenge. Even if we fight again, who knows who will win this time?” Dustin said, showing no signs of concern.

“Are you serious? You don’t have to act tough!” Ruth replied, looking at him with doubt.

The Horst family may not be as powerful as the Harmon family, but they were still a significant force in the city.

Dustin found himself in a tough situation. He was going up against a wealthy family that had held power for many years. It seemed impossible for one person to challenge such a strong force.

“You’ll find out soon enough,” Dustin said with a light chuckle, keeping his cards close to his chest.

As soon as they left, chaos erupted in the room.

“Quick! Notify the Horst family right away!” someone shouted.

“Can you believe that madman killed Mr. Horst? He will pay for this!” another voice echoed.

Meanwhile, in the council chamber at Fallridge Haven, Caden was sitting with a middle-aged man, sipping tea.

“I need to apologize, Sir Gabriel, about the Gozoraberry. I don’t have it with me right now, so I can’t give it to you,” Caden said.

“Oh? What happened?” Gabriel Horst asked, looking confused.

The Gozoraberry was known to help someone become a high-level martial artist. Gabriel was eager to get his hands on it.

“Two days ago, a guy named Dustin got lucky and cured Sheila’s illness, so he was rewarded with a Gozoraberry,” Caden explained.

“How can that kid have something so valuable?” Gabriel scoffed, narrowing his eyes in frustration.

“I thought the same thing. I was the one who gave it to him, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get it back,” Caden hinted.

“You’re too kind. Since you can’t go after him yourself, let me handle it,” Gabriel said with a grin.

“That’s a good idea for now. But please, try not to involve the Murray family. I don’t want any gossip spreading,” Caden replied.

“Consider it done! This won’t be my first time dealing with someone to get what I want,” Gabriel said confidently.

“I’ll make sure that everything is done quietly so no one finds out about this,” Gabriel said, a wicked look in his eyes.

In his world, a man was innocent until a bounty was placed on him. How could someone so unimportant, a mere background figure, possess such a valuable treasure? He certainly deserved to die.

Just then, a guard from the Horst family burst in, looking terrified. “Sir Gabriel! Something terrible has happened!”

The guard ran too fast and tripped, falling to the ground. Gabriel frowned at the sight.

“What are you panicking about?” Gabriel snapped.

“I—” the guard stammered but hesitated.

“Spit it out! What’s going on?” Gabriel demanded, feeling confused.

“Sir! Something awful has happened! Mr. Horst has been killed!” the guard cried, dropping to his knees.

“What?! What are you talking about? My son seemed fine just a while ago. How could he be dead?” Gabriel shouted, standing up in shock.

“But it’s true! Mr. Horst had his neck broken, and his body is outside!” the guard sobbed.

“That’s impossible! No way!” Gabriel yelled, shaking his head in disbelief.

But when they brought Xavier’s body into the room, Gabriel felt like he had been hit by lightning. His face went pale.

“Who did this?!” Gabriel screamed, his shock turning to rage. His eyes were bloodshot, and he was acting like a wild animal.

Such senseless violence! Such madness!

“It was done by a guy named Dustin Rhys,” the guard managed to say.

“Dustin Rhys, you dog! How dare you kill my son? I swear I’ll make you pay!”

“I’ll tear you to pieces! I’ll rip you apart!” Gabriel shouted, his teeth clenched and his eyes wide with anger.

“Spread the word! Use every resource we have to search the whole city if we need to! We have to find that guy no matter what!”
