At Fallridge Haven, Sheila knelt before her father, desperate. “Father! Please help Dustin; he might die!”

Caden crossed his arms, cold and unyielding. “You dare ask me to help him? He’s the one who caused Xavier’s death! That’s unforgivable! The Horst army has gathered the best warriors from Swinton. No one can save him now!”

Sheila’s heart sank. “But Father, Dustin has saved me many times. Please, help him for my sake!” Tears flowed down her cheeks.

Since returning to Fallridge Haven, Sheila had pleaded with her father for help. Only he had the power to stand against the Horst army.

“It’s exactly because he saved you that I haven’t killed him myself!” Caden shot back.

“Father! I’ll do anything if you just save Dustin!” Sheila cried, now on all fours.

“Foolish girl! You don’t understand what you’re asking!” Caden slammed his hand on the table as he stood up. “Do you want me to go against the Horst family for someone who means nothing? What about the rest of us?”

“I don’t care about the others! Dustin saved me, and I have to repay him!” Sheila insisted, her eyes filled with tears.

“You’re being naive!” Caden shouted. “Claudia! Take her downstairs and keep an eye on her. She can’t leave Fallridge Haven!”

“Yes, sir!” Claudia answered, pulling Sheila away.

“Claudia! Please, help me!” Sheila begged, her eyes puffy from crying.

“Sweetheart, it’s not worth it for a stranger,” Claudia sighed. She could see that Sheila had fallen for Dustin, but she knew this love was unlikely to end well. She was from a different world.
