An Understated Dominance - Chapter 191
“What did you just say? A major shareholder?” Julie paused, then burst out laughing. “Hahaha! Have you lost your mind, Rhys? You? A major shareholder? That’s hilarious!”
“Oh Rhys, you can brag all you want, but why do it in front of us? You’re just making a fool of yourself!” Matt chuckled. He had looked into Dustin and found that he was nothing special. Sure, he might have some sneaky tricks, but he had no real skills.
“Believe what you want, but I promise you won’t get any rights to the company,” Dustin said calmly.
“Ha! You promise? You think highly of yourself! Mr. Marcs is in charge, and one word from him makes the final call!” Julie sneered.
“I don’t know Mr. Marcs, but I doubt he has the power to decide that,” Dustin replied without flinching.
“Ha! And you think you know better? Look in the mirror, loser! Who are you to judge authority?” Julie mocked.
“Just leave, Dustin. You’re embarrassing yourself!” Matt laughed, looking at Dustin like he was a joke.
Dustin couldn’t understand how he had lost to such a loser twice in a row.
“Julie.” Just then, a heavyset man walked up to them. He was the manager of Harmon Pharmaceuticals.
“Harvey, you’re finally here!” Julie’s face lit up as she rushed over and wrapped her arm around him, clearly excited.
“Julie, it’s been a while! You’re getting lovelier every day,” Mr. Marcs said with a playful slap on her behind and a flirtatious grin.
was I? Oh yes, as I was saying, I need to discuss Immortunol,” Matt interrupted, trying to steer the conversation back on track.
“Right, right,” Mr. Marcs replied, clearing his throat. “But as I mentioned, Mr. Rhys is the one in charge of that. You’ll need to speak to him directly if you want to pursue the company’s rights.”
Julie leaned in, intrigued. “Mr. Rhys sounds important! Is he someone I could meet, too?”
Mr. Marcs nodded. “Yes, he is a chief physician at Harmon Pharmaceuticals and very close to Ms. Harmon. He even developed the formula for Immortunol.”
“Wow, he must be incredibly smart!” Julie exclaimed, a hopeful look on her face. She often sought out influential people and found ways to connect with them.
“Mr. Marcs, how can I get in touch with Mr. Rhys?” Matt asked, eager to move the discussion forward.
Mr. Marcs smiled. “I can help with that. Let me see if he’s available for a meeting.”
As they continued talking, Dustin sat quietly, feeling overlooked. Julie had brushed him aside as if he didn’t matter, but he remained hopeful that he could contribute to the conversation somehow.
“Is Mr. Rhys here? Can you introduce me to him?” Matt asked hopefully.
Mr. Marcs paused for a moment. “Well—”
“Actually, I have a gift for you. Please take this.” Matt quickly pulled out a check for a million dollars and handed it to Mr. Marcs.
“Hahaha! How generous of you, Mr. Laney!” Mr. Marcs smiled brightly when he saw the check.
“And what about the company’s rights?” Matt asked.
“Of course, there won’t be any problem!” Mr. Marcs replied enthusiastically.
