An Understated Dominance - Chapter 194
“Do you hear that? Everyone’s saying you’re the thief,” Morgan said with a smirk. Who was this bold person who dared to get involved in his business?
“Mr. Finn, are you really going to protect him?” Dustin asked, narrowing his eyes with a threatening glare.
Dustin suddenly understood why Mr. Marcs felt so confident in his actions. He had an equally corrupt boss backing him up! Dustin thought he had seen the worst of Mr. Marcs, but Morgan was even worse. Not only did he twist the truth, but he also blamed others for things they didn’t do. It was clear to everyone that his subordinate was at fault, yet Morgan shamelessly accused Custin. This was unacceptable!
“So what if I protect him? Who do you think runs this place?” Mr. Finn said, pressing his lips into a tight line. “I’m giving you a chance. Get down on your knees and apologize to Mr. Marcs right now, and admit you were wrong. If you refuse, I’ll make sure you spend your life in prison!”
“Is that really what you want to do?” Dustin shot back.
“Do I look like I’m joking? You should know if your opponent has someone powerful behind them before you start acting tough! Who do you think you are, doing whatever you want on my turf? Now, get on your knees and apologize!” Morgan shouted.
“Do you hear that? Get on your knees!” Mr. Marcs taunted, looking at Dustin as if he had already won.
“Rhys! Why did you even get involved? This is what you get for sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong!” Julie mocked.
“You really think too highly of yourself!” Matt said, giving him a scornful look.
When you face someone with absolute power, it doesn’t matter if you’re right or wrong. What does it matter if the truth is on your side? If the person in charge says you’re wrong, there’s little you can do about it.
Defending yourself was simply how society worked.
“Alright, if that’s your choice, don’t regret it,” Dustin said, cutting straight to the point. He didn’t waste time chatting and quickly made a call on his phone.
“Oh? Calling for help?” Morgan laughed. “Hey, kid! You don’t get it! This is my territory, and I’m in charge! Who do you think can save you now?”
“Mr. Finn, let’s not get too cocky. The Harmons run Harmon Pharmaceuticals, not you,” Dustin replied.
“So what? I’m a founding member of Harmon Pharmaceuticals! Even Natasha Harmon shows me respect, unlike you!” Morgan boasted.
Just then, a clear, confident voice interrupted. “Is that so? Should I be addressing you respectfully now?”
Everyone turned to see an elegant woman in red walking toward them. It was Natasha Harmon!
“Ms. Harmon?” Morgan felt a wave of worry. He quickly forced a smile and approached her. “What brings you here?”
“I’m here to join the fun! Am I not welcome, respected Mr. Finn?” Natasha emphasized his title with a hint of sarcasm.
“Ms. Harmon, it was just a joke. Don’t take it seriously,” Morgan stammered, feeling awkward. He never expected her to show up at such a bad time.
“A joke? It didn’t sound like one to me. You seemed pretty confident back there,” Natasha replied, unfazed.
“Well—” Morgan struggled to find an excuse for his words.
“Forget it; I’ll let that go. Now tell me, what’s happening here?” Natasha asked, shifting the focus back to the matter at hand.
“Ms. Harmon, let me explain what happened,” Mr. Marcs began, but he was interrupted by Natasha’s intense stare.
“Do you think you can speak now?” she asked sharply.
“Know your place!” Morgan snapped at Mr. Marcs before turning back to Natasha with an apologetic smile. “Ms. Harmon, it’s not a big deal. Someone here with bad intentions stole some Immortunols. I’m already taking care of it, and it will be resolved soon.”
“Oh? Who would be bold enough to steal Immortunols?” Natasha inquired, raising an eyebrow.
“That rascal!” Morgan exclaimed, pointing at Dustin.
“Mr. Finn, are you sure it’s him?” Natasha asked, trying to hide a smile.
“Absolutely!” Morgan replied confidently.
“And do you know who he is?” Natasha continued, amusement spreading across her face.
“Whoever he is, he has committed a serious crime by stealing the Immortunols! We need to make sure he faces justice!” Morgan declared, trying to sound righteous.
“Alright then, let me clarify something for you,” Natasha said, her expression turning serious. “The man you’ve accused of theft is the chief physician of Harmon Pharmaceuticals and the creator of Immortunol, Dustin Rhys!” The crowd erupted in shock at this revelation.
