An Understated Dominance - Chapter 201
“James, I’m giving you three seconds to apologize to Caitlyn!” Dustin stood up slowly, looking angry.
“Apologize? Who do you think you are? I’m not going to apologize just because you say so. Besides, isn’t she just a stupid bitch? So what if I hit her? What are you going to do about it? If you keep talking, I might hit you too!” James shouted, his face twisted with rage.
“You foolish idiot!” Dustin scoffed, then kicked James hard in the stomach. James cried out in pain and flew backward, curling up as he rolled on the ground.
Florence watched in shock at first, then her eyes filled with anger. “How dare you hit my son?! You heartless monster! I’m going to teach you a lesson!” she screamed, charging at him.
She started scratching and hitting him like a cat in a fight.
“Get off!” Dustin shouted, shaking her off. An unseen force pushed her back, and she stumbled, falling down with a thud. Her head hit the door, and she groaned.
“You awful person! How dare you hit me too? This is wrong! How did our family raise such an ungrateful brat like you?!” Florence cried, sitting on the floor.
Seeing his mother fall made James furious. “What are you all doing just standing there? Get him!” he yelled.
The thugs snapped out of their daze and grabbed their steel pipes, rushing at Dustin with shouts.
But in an instant, they were all thrown out of the medical center, screaming.
“Useless! You’re all useless!” James yelled, frustration boiling over. He thought bringing the thugs would give him an advantage, but he never expected this.
Dustin shook his head in disbelief, “The thugs he hired are completely useless.”
Suddenly, he turned to Caitlyn and said, “He slapped you just now. You should slap him back—twice.”
“Don’t you dare!” James’ face twisted in anger.
Caitlyn stood frozen, fear gripping her. She felt small and scared, unable to move forward. Throughout her life, she had only been on the receiving end of violence; she had never struck anyone.
“If she won’t do it, I will!” Dustin declared.
Without hesitation, he slapped James hard across the face twice. James stumbled back, dazed, his cheeks turning red and puffy.
“You savage! You’re worse than an animal! You hit your former brother-in-law over a silly beggar? Are you even human? Our family has done so much for you, yet you repay us with violence! You’re truly heartless! No wonder my daughter wanted to divorce you. With your ungratefulness, you deserve to be alone! You’re just a petty, immoral piece of trash, and you’ll never measure up to Matt!” Florence yelled, jabbing her finger at Dustin.
Her true nature as a cruel woman was showing.
“Really? The Nicholson family has done so much for me? I’m ungrateful?” Dustin burst out laughing at her absurdity.
“Why does that sound so ridiculous coming from you? Who do you think helped you get where you are today? Since Dahlia started her company three years ago, it’s been nothing but success. Guess who was working behind the scenes to help her?”
He continued, “What about Trevor’s revenge, or the Harmon family’s partners? And James being detained at the bar? Dahlia ran into….”
“Danger, and the end of the Hummer boycott—who do you think made those things happen? It was me! When you say you’ve done a lot for me, remember that I’ve done a lot for the Nicholson family! But how did you repay me? With insults and false accusations. So tell me, who is really the ungrateful one?” Dustin shouted, his voice echoing with emotion.
