An Understated Dominance - Chapter 208
After hanging up the phone, Dustin started cleaning the medical center with Caitlyn. He could see that the loss of her pet cat had deeply affected her, even though she didn’t complain. Her eyes were often red, and she was trying hard not to cry out loud. Caitlyn had been through so much in her life that she was cautious and didn’t want to show her emotions. This made Dustin feel a pang of sympathy for her.
They worked together for a long time, and finally, the medical center was clean. Just then, a silver Bentley arrived at the entrance. The door opened, and Natasha stepped out, wearing a striking red dress.
“Ms. Harmon?” Caitlyn greeted Natasha as soon as she saw her.
“Come on, Caitlyn, you don’t need to be so formal with me. Just think of me as your sister,” Natasha replied with a smile, patting Caitlyn on the head.
“Okay,” Caitlyn nodded, though she would need some time to feel comfortable enough to act casually around Natasha.
Dustin walked over to Natasha and asked, “Ms. Harmon, what can I do for you?”
“Can’t I just come to see you without a reason?” Natasha raised her eyebrows playfully.
“Of course! You can visit anytime, and I’ll always be happy to see you,” Dustin smiled back.
“That’s more like it,” Natasha said with a gentle smile. “Let’s have lunch together today. I want to introduce you to someone important.”
“A big shot? Who is it?” Dustin asked, intrigued.
“You’ll find out if you come with us.” Natasha then called out, “Caitlyn, come on! Let’s go eat together.”
“I won’t go this time. I want to stay and take care of Mr. Jones,” Caitlyn replied, shaking her head.
“That’s fine then. I’ll…”
“Have Dustin bring some food back for you,” Natasha said as they headed to the car.
Natasha didn’t make Caitlyn join them. Instead, she simply pulled Dustin along.
Twenty minutes later, they arrived at A’roma, a fancy Stonian restaurant owned by the Harmon family. Natasha often picked this place when she had important guests to impress.
They walked up to the second floor and sat at a table by the window. The view of the garden outside was beautiful.
“Ms. Harmon, can you tell me who we’re meeting now?” Dustin asked again.
“Roderick Brooks from Millsburg. Have you heard of him?” Natasha replied with a light smile.
“Roderick Brooks? The name sounds familiar,” Dustin said, thinking hard.
“Roderick is the chairman of Riversouth Bank and a well-known tycoon in Millsburg. He controls a third of the cash flow there, which is why people call him Big Bucks Brooks,” Natasha explained.
“Oh, so that’s him…” Dustin nodded, starting to understand who she meant.
“Not many know this, but Big Bucks Brooks is actually ill. He’s seen many doctors, but none could help him. I heard you are a great healer, so I invited you to meet him. He should be here soon,” Natasha added.
Just then, a woman’s voice came from behind them. “Why, isn’t it Ms. Harmon?”
Natasha turned around and saw an elegant woman in a stunning evening gown walking toward her, carrying a Hermes handbag.
“Oh, it’s you, Mrs. Brooks. Where’s Mr. Brooks?” Natasha asked, glancing around.
“Roderick, huh? You still have a thing for him since the last time you saw him?” Chloe Marshall said with a sarcastic tone.
Chloe had never liked Natasha. Part of it was because they were rivals in business. But more than that, she was jealous of Natasha. Natasha came from a wealthy family, was beautiful, and had a thriving business.
When Chloe found out that Natasha was in regular contact with her husband, she felt even more threatened. She felt the need to assert her dominance.
“Mrs. Brooks, you must have misunderstood. Mr. Brooks and I only discuss business,” Natasha replied calmly.
“Oh, is that so? You want to talk business in his bed, don’t you?” Chloe’s smile turned icy.
“Ms. Harmon, it’s not good to always crave what you can’t have. You’re already with a gigolo, so why are you still thinking about Roderick? People say you’re as innocent as can be, but I don’t believe it. If I remember correctly, you’re almost 28, and your gigolo looks like he’s in his early twenties. Aren’t you a bit of a cougar?”
Chloe raised her voice, trying to draw attention from those around them and ruin Natasha’s reputation.
Natasha frowned slightly but stayed composed. If her relationship with Roderick hadn’t been so important, she might have slapped Chloe right then.
“Where did this witch come from? Are you out of your mind?” At that moment, Dustin couldn’t hold back. “If you are, just walk out the door, turn left, and go to the hospital for a check-up.”
“Please don’t disturb us while we’re eating,” Dustin said.
Chloe spun around, her eyes blazing with anger. “Do you know who I am? How dare you speak to me like that!”
“Does it really matter who you are?” Dustin replied coolly, looking her over. “You might look like a person, but you sure talk like a dog. Every time you open your mouth, garbage comes out. You should brush your teeth instead of making us all sick here!”
“How dare you insult me?!” Chloe exclaimed, her eyes wide with shock and fury.
She was the wife of Big Bucks Brooks, and everyone treated her like royalty. But this gigolo had the nerve to insult her right to her face. He really had some guts!
“So what if I insult you?” Dustin shot back, his expression confident. “If you keep humiliating Natasha, I’ll slap you. You better believe it!”
Natasha watched the exchange with a soft smile, resting her cheek in her hand.
“Gigolo, you better get down on your knees and apologize right now! Or else, there will be consequences!” Chloe fumed.
“Get on my knees for you? You think you’re worth that?” Dustin laughed.
“And just so you know, you should really go to the hospital for a check-up. You seem really sick!”
“You’re the sick one! Your whole family is sick!” Chloe ground her teeth in anger.
“Don’t believe me? Let me ask you this—have you been having headaches, fever, weakness, nausea, and trouble breathing lately?” Dustin asked casually.
“Yes, but so what? It’s just a cold!” Chloe replied, momentarily taken aback but quickly pretending to be unaffected, nose in the air.
“A cold? Heh…”
“You’re really optimistic,” Dustin said, shaking his head. “But it’s clear you’re not well. You have shortness of breath, swollen lymph nodes in your neck, you look tired, and there’s a rash on your body. If I’m right, I think you have Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.”
“What syndrome?” Chloe asked, confused.
“Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, or AIDS for short,” he replied.
The moment he said that, Chloe felt frozen in shock.
