An Understated Dominance - Chapter 212
Roderick stood there, frozen and pale. He had faced many challenges in his life, but at that moment, he felt lost.
He thought discovering his wife’s affair was the worst news he could hear. But then came the shocking revelation: his son wasn’t even biologically his.
This news hit him harder than the betrayal itself. “Mr. Rhys, are… you sure?” Roderick’s eye twitched as he desperately clung to hope.
“Mr. Brooks, it’s a tough truth to accept, but based on your current health, you lost the ability to have children long ago. If you don’t believe me, you can get tested yourself,” Dustin replied firmly.
Roderick’s situation started to evoke pity from Dustin. Despite his wealth, Roderick was dealing with an unfaithful wife and the possibility that his son was not his.
Most people would have been driven mad by such a double blow.
“Alright. Thank you, Mr. Rhys. There are too many people here. Can we find somewhere else to talk?” Roderick asked, his face showing no emotion.
“Of course,” Dustin said, catching Natasha’s eye and agreeing.
“Dan, please take Ms. Harmon and Mr. Rhys to the Brooks Manor. I’ll join you shortly,” Roderick instructed his driver.
Dan nodded and led Dustin and Natasha to the Rolls Royce waiting outside.
Once they left, Roderick’s expression turned dark.
He would need a paternity test to find out if his son was truly his. He could consider forgiving his wife for her affair, but he could not face the idea of raising another man’s child.
Meanwhile, Dustin and Natasha wandered through the beautiful garden at the Brooks Manor, taking in the scenery.
The garden around them was beautiful, with a few housekeepers following closely behind, carrying trays of pastries and tea, ready to serve whenever needed. After enjoying a stroll, they found a cool spot to rest their feet.
“Ms. Harmon, do you think Mr. Brooks can handle this shocking truth?” Dustin suddenly asked.
If Chloe hadn’t done something so embarrassing, Roderick wouldn’t have poked his nose into things that didn’t concern him.
“Mr. Brooks has faced many challenges. He should be fine, as long as you can help him with his secret illness,” Natasha said with a faint smile.
For a man, being able to have children was very important.
“As long as Mr. Brooks trusts me,” Dustin replied.
Just then, a large shadow fell over them. It was Roderick!
“Hello, you two. Sorry for keeping you waiting,” Roderick said, wiping the sweat from his forehead and forcing a smile.
“Mr. Brooks, has the matter been settled?” Dustin asked carefully.
“Yes, it’s settled,” Roderick confirmed with a nod.
Thanks to his wealth, the paternity test results came back in less than an hour. As Dustin had said, the child was not his. Roderick was furious when he learned the truth, feeling a strong urge for revenge. But after so many years, he had formed attachments to them. In the end, he decided to let the mother and child live, but they were never to come near him again.
“Ah, fate has truly been cruel to me! I dedicated my life to doing good, yet here I am, losing my ability to have children and parting ways with my wife and child,” Roderick sighed deeply.
