An Understated Dominance - Chapter 219
At Peaceful Medical Centre, Dustin sat quietly reading a book when a Maybach pulled up outside. The door opened, and Phineas stepped out, carrying some gills.
“Mr. Rhys,” Phineas greeted with a smile, looking much less arrogant than when they first met.
“Do you need something from me?” Dustin asked, glancing at Phineas with indifference.
“Mr. Rhys, I’m truly sorry about today’s incident. Please forgive us for our ignorance,” Phineas said apologetically.
He realized that Dustin had strong connections, including the Harmon family and Big Bucks Brooks. If Phineas wanted to borrow three billion dollars, he needed to win Dustin’s forgiveness first.
“How could someone like me make the Laney family apologize?” Dustin replied casually.
“What are you saying, Mr. Rhys? You’re young and talented. We proudly admit our defeat. Please give us a way out,” Phineas said, bowing his head. But Dustin remained silent. Frustrated, Phineas dropped to his knees with a thud.
“Mr. Rhys, please accept our family’s sincere apologies. If you give us another chance, you’ll always be our honored guest! I’m willing to offer half of our property as an apology,” Phineas said, bowing even lower. Dustin admired his willingness to set aside his pride.
“What about Caitlyn’s cat?” Dustin asked coldly.
“We’ll replace it! We’ll get her as many cats as she wants!” Phineas promised frantically.
“Dusty’s dead. It doesn’t matter how many cats you get,” Caitlyn said sadly beside Dustin.
“Did you hear that? I might forgive you, but you hurt Caitlyn,” Dustin shrugged.
“I’m so sorry, Ms. Lawler. I swear I won’t do it again,” Phineas pleaded.
“Please forgive me just this once! I’ve learned my lesson!” Phineas pleaded as he crawled over to Caitlyn to apologize.
“I’ll forgive you, but only if you promise never to do anything bad again!” Caitlyn said seriously.
“Absolutely! I’ve learned my mistake,” Phineas nodded quickly, lowering his head in submission.
“Since Caitlyn has forgiven you, I’ll let this go. Just remember your promise,” Dustin said calmly.
“Of course. As long as the Laney family can get through this, everything they own is yours!” Phineas quickly agreed.
Dustin was about to say more when his phone rang. It was Dahlia calling.
Chapter 219
As soon as he answered, he heard muffled voices.
“Let me go. I want to go home,” Dahlia said weakly.
“What do you mean ‘go home’? Look how nice the Estelle Hotel is! Let’s keep drinking!” Matt laughed.
“You can go by yourself. Leave me alone,” Dahlia replied.
“Shut up! You should be grateful for this chance. You have no choice. You’re drinking tonight. Get in!”
The phone slipped from his hand and the shouting faded away.
Dustin’s expression darkened, and the atmosphere around him grew tense.
“What’s wrong, Mr. Rhys?” Phineas asked, trembling.
In a sudden burst of anger, Dustin slapped Phineas across the face, knocking him to the floor. “You better hope your son hasn’t messed up, or I’ll ruin your entire family!” Dustin shouted as he stormed out the door.
