Bang! The door swung open with a loud kick, causing the lightbulbs in the room to explode, sending shards of glass flying everywhere. A cold chill filled the air.

“Who the hell is it? Who’s ruining my fun?” Matt shouted, turning around with a scowl. The sudden darkness made it hard for him to see.

“Matt Laney, you have a death wish!” a chilling voice said as a shadow moved closer. The moonlight streamed through the window, revealing the figure. It was Dustin!

“It’s you!” Matt’s face shifted to anger as he quickly grabbed a handgun from the bedside drawer. He yelled, “You fool! I haven’t forgotten how you’ve messed up my plans before. And yet, you come here first!”

“Dustin! Please go! Don’t worry about me!” Dahlia weakly cried out. She thought Dustin might be her savior, but seeing Matt with a gun made her panic.

“Weren’t you talking big, huh? Looks like you’re scared now,” Matt taunted, raising his gun and chuckling. “You better beg for mercy if you don’t want to die. I’ll put a bullet right through your head!”

“Beg? You think you’re worth that?” Dustin shot back, glaring at Matt.

“Worth it?” Matt grinned wildly and fired two shots near Dustin’s feet. “I don’t just want you to beg. I’m going to take your woman right in front of you!”

“Y-you shameless jerk!” Dahlia gasped, her heart racing with anger. The drug in her system made her flushed face look even more striking.

“So what? I’ll enjoy myself with you before I deal with him!” Matt declared.

“I planned to finish you off in—”

Dustin approached Matt calmly, his presence so intense that it made it hard for Matt to breathe. Matt’s hand shook uncontrollably.

“Stop right there! You better stop, or I’ll shoot!” Matt yelled, his voice filled with panic.

But Dustin kept moving closer, ignoring Matt’s warning.

“You’re dead meat!” Matt gritted his teeth, aiming his gun at Dustin’s head. He pulled the trigger, and loud bangs echoed in the room as the bullets fired. But to Matt’s shock, Dustin had vanished.

Suddenly, Dustin reappeared just two feet in front of him.

“You—”

Startled, Matt tried to back away, but Dustin swiftly grabbed his hair and slammed his head against the wall. With a loud thud, Matt passed out, blood dripping from his head.

“Dustin…”

Now that the danger had passed, Dahlia finally relaxed and fell asleep.

Dustin glanced at the unconscious Matt and took out his phone to make a call. Fifteen minutes later, Hunter arrived with a dozen strong men.

“Mr. Rhys, here are the men you wanted,” Hunter said politely. These men were not just big; they were intimidating and had a reputation for being drawn to pretty boys.

“Good job,” Dustin said, nodding in approval. He then used acupuncture to wake Matt.

“What are you guys doing? I’m warning you! I’m the heir of the Laney family! You won’t get away with this!” Matt threatened as he regained consciousness.

“Mr. Laney, I specifically asked these men to serve you. Enjoy,” Dustin said, gesturing toward the men. They quickly grabbed Matt, grinning maliciously.

“Let me go!” Matt’s face turned pale with fear.

“I’m sorry, Dustin! Please forgive me! I won’t do it again!” he screamed as they pulled him into a car, where pain and misery awaited him.

“Mr. Anderson, tell your—”

“Make sure you take good care of him. I want him to suffer as much as possible!” Dustin said coldly.

“Don’t worry! I’ll handle it!” Hunter replied before leaving. Matt was going to regret what he did to Dustin’s woman.

Once everyone was gone, Dustin walked over to the bed and started putting ointment on Dahlia’s wounds.

“Dustin, I—I’m sorry…” Dahlia finally said, her voice weak. Dustin’s body tensed, and a look of sadness crossed his face. After a moment, he shook his head and continued applying the ointment.

Suddenly, the door burst open. Florence, James, and several others rushed in, their faces darkening when they saw Dahlia lying unconscious.

“Rhys! How dare you touch my daughter, you horrible man! I’ll kill you!” Florence shouted, lunging to slap Dustin. He caught her hand easily.

“What? Are you going to hit me back? You disgusting jerk!” Furious, Florence kicked Dustin in the shin instead. He frowned but didn’t retaliate.

“Call the police right now! This criminal needs to be arrested!” she yelled.

“Exactly! A jerk like him belongs in jail!” several voices echoed, and James pulled out his phone to call the police.

“It doesn’t matter if you believe me or not; I didn’t do anything wrong,” Dustin said indifferently.

“Bullshit! Why would she be here if you didn’t kidnap her?” Florence shot back, glaring at him.

“That’s right! Everyone can see you were planning something awful!” another voice chimed in.

“Are you seriously defending yourself after we caught you? You really won’t back down!” someone else yelled.

The crowd was furious, glaring at Dustin as if they wanted to tear him apart. They were disgusted that he had sunk so low.

Dustin felt frustrated. “Whatever. I didn’t do anything wrong anyway,” he said as he shook his head and stood up to leave. He understood that the others wouldn’t believe him if he tried to explain.

“Hold on! Who said you could leave?” James stepped in front of the door. “You’re not going anywhere without explaining yourself!”

But Dustin pushed past him, and James stumbled and fell to the ground.
