An Understated Dominance - Chapter 224
Phineas was frozen with fear. Who would have thought that the ordinary-looking old man in front of him was the Executioner?
“Why is the Executioner here in person?” he thought. Just then, Matt, filled with rage, shouted, “How dare you hit me! You’re dead! It’s over for all of you! Men, finish them off!”
“Stop!” Phineas yelled, dropping to his knees in front of the old man. He pleaded, “Sir Albert, we don’t know what we did to upset you, but please forgive us.”
“What are you doing, Dad? Why are you begging?” Matt couldn’t believe it. He didn’t understand why his father was kneeling before the old man when they seemed to have the upper hand.
“Shut up, you fool! We can’t afford to anger him! Get down and kneel!” Phineas urged Matt desperately.
“I’m not kneeling!” Matt looked around wildly. “What do you mean we can’t mess with them? There are only three of them! We could easily take them down!”
“You idiot! Do you even realize who this is? This is the Executioner!” Phineas’s face turned pale. They were nothing but ants in front of such a powerful figure.
“What Executioner? I’ve never heard of him! He can die today, even if he’s a god!” Matt shouted defiantly.
Alfred, the Executioner, chuckled at Matt’s bravado. “Interesting. I almost don’t want to kill you now.”
“You think you losers can kill me? You’re all just arrogant fools!” Matt sneered, his anger boiling over from the previous night’s events.
“It’s over. Everything’s over,” Phineas whispered as he sank to the floor, his face drained of color. How could he have such a reckless son? How could Matt insult the Executioner?
“Trying to compete with me in numbers? Alright, then.”
“Let’s see who has more men!” the large man shouted, waving his arm. Immediately, a series of synchronized footsteps echoed around the place.
Suddenly, armed men rushed in from all sides, quickly surrounding everyone. The guards were fully equipped, wearing black masks that hid their faces. Their sharp eyes and menacing presence made everyone instinctively turn away in fear.
The guards from the Laney family seemed weak in comparison to these newcomers. No words were exchanged, but the Laney guards, frightened by the sight, dropped their weapons and stepped aside.
Matt stood frozen, his arrogance fading away as terror took over. What happened? Where did all these men come from?
“Aren’t we competing by numbers? Who has more men now?” the bulky man called out again. The armed men drew their swords in unison, creating an overwhelming atmosphere.
Matt felt his legs give way, and he collapsed to the ground.
“Sir Alfred, please have mercy!” Phineas crawled toward Alfred, pleading. “My son has lost his mind and doesn’t know what he’s doing. Please spare his life!”
“Then you’ll have to die in his place,” Alfred replied coldly. He took a sword from the burly man’s back and tossed it to the floor.
“Only one of you can live. Make your choice,” he said calmly.
