Nobody expected Dustin to suddenly attack someone from the Boulderthorn Guild. Had he lost his mind?
“Dustin, are you crazy? How could you attack Mr. Williams’ son? Do you want to get yourself killed?” Jessica stared at him in shock and anger. Hitting Brody was like challenging the Boulderthorn Guild.
“You might want to die, but the rest of us don’t! You can’t afford to mess with Mr. Williams!” Quentin shouted. He secretly hoped Dustin would get in trouble, but he didn’t want to face the consequences too.
“Dustin, you’ve really done it this time!” Even Ruth looked worried. The Boulderthorn Guild was too powerful; even the Harmon family wouldn’t survive their revenge.
“He’s just trash. Why should I care if I attacked him?” Dustin replied coolly.
“You’re so stubborn!” Jessica shot him a furious look.
At that moment, Brody finally got himself free from the vase. He looked a mess, his face red and swollen from the slap and being stuck. “How dare you hit me, you brat!” he yelled, pointing at Dustin. He had never been hit before; he was always the one doing the hitting.
“So what if I did? Do you think no one can teach you a lesson just because you say you’re from Boulderthorn Guild?” Dustin scoffed.
“You’re dead meat!” Brody shouted, his anger boiling over. He raised his fist and swung it at Dustin. Earlier, Dustin had caught him off guard, but now that he knew what to expect, he wasn’t going to let it happen again.
Dustin snorted and easily caught Brody’s fist before kicking him hard in the stomach. Brody howled in pain and doubled over, falling to his knees. He curled up into a ball on the floor.
“Dustin, stop it!” Jessica shouted, her face filled with shock. Wasn’t it enough that he had attacked Brody once? He was making things worse for himself by doing it again!
“Damn it! Capture that psycho!” Quentin yelled. At his command, the security guards in the room pulled out their electric batons and raised them threateningly.
“I’d like to see you try!” Just then, Natasha stormed into the room. Her strong presence made everyone freeze.
“Natasha, thank goodness you’re here,” Jessica said, her voice tense. “This man attacked a member of the Boulderthorn Guild in public. He can’t be forgiven!”
“Exactly! If we let him go, we’re just keeping a ticking time bomb!” Quentin added angrily.
“I’ve heard everything that happened today, and I don’t think Dustin did anything wrong,” Natasha replied calmly.
“What?” Jessica was shocked. “Natasha, have you lost your mind? How can you say he didn’t do anything wrong after he attacked a member of the Boulderthorn Guild?”
Natasha explained, “Dustin had good reasons. Brody was using the Boulderthorn Guild’s influence to try to force us into giving up what’s ours. Doesn’t he deserve to be punished for that? If everyone starts using their power and money to take our shares, we might as well just hand over Harmon Pharmaceuticals for free!”
The others had no response to her argument.
