An Understated Dominance - Chapter 23
“Why are you still standing there? Let them go!” Trevor felt a twitch in the corners of his eyes, and his face went pale. If Hunter had asked him nicely, he might not have been so angry. But Hunter had shouted as soon as he arrived and even slapped him. Trevor couldn’t let Dustin go without looking weak in front of his men.
“Mr. Anderson, this guy crippled my son and barged into my place. How can I face the public if they know I let him go today?” Trevor shot back quietly.
“Your son deserved what he got! I will ruin the Drey Group if you don’t let him go!” Hunter replied with a cold smirk.
“Mr. Anderson, I know you are powerful, and I don’t want to cross you. But don’t forget, I have support too!” Trevor shouted fiercely.
“Are you talking about Edwin? Let me tell you, even if Edwin were here today, you would still have to let Mr. Rhys go!” Hunter said with a chilling smile.
Trevor’s face darkened at Hunter’s words. He didn’t expect Hunter to be so stubborn, especially since he was disregarding Edwin for two strangers. “Fine! I’ll tell Sir Hummer what happened today!” Trevor said, annoyed.
Edwin Hummer was the leader of the three most powerful families in the country. He could definitely control Hunter.
Hunter would pay for disrespecting him. “Stop talking and let them go right now!” Hunter was done arguing. He pulled out his gun and pointed it at Trevor’s head.
“Let them go!” Trevor gritted his teeth, realizing Hunter was serious. He didn’t want to risk his life over this.
“Trevor, this is a warning. If something like this happens again, even Edwin can’t help you!” With that, Hunter led Dustin and Dahlia out.

Outside, 200 men stood still, afraid to move. “Sir Spanner, are you really going to let them go like this?” some of his men asked, feeling frustrated.
“What else can I do? Do you want to die?” Trevor shot back. His men fell silent at his words.
“Damn it! I won’t let them get away!” Trevor continued, his face dark. “Contact Fletcher and tell him to come back right away. That guy needs to die today!”
“Yes!”
After leaving the Drey Group, Dahlia finally felt clear-headed. “Ms. Nicholson, are you okay?” Hunter asked with concern.
“Mr. Anderson? Why are you here? Did you just save me?” Dahlia looked surprised.
“I didn’t do much. I just tried to help. Mr. Rhys was the one who risked his life against 200 men to save you. He’s very devoted!” Hunter smiled.
“Really?” Dahlia turned to Dustin, who stood next to her, looking confused. “Mr. Anderson, didn’t you say you had something to deal with?” he asked suddenly.
“Oh, right! How could I forget? You two chat. I’ll take my leave,” Hunter said quickly. After saying goodbye, he left with his men.
“Ms. Nicholson!” Lyra got out of the car. She had been waiting, but Dahlia came out before the police arrived.
“Was that Mr. Anderson who just left?” Lyra asked cautiously.
“Yes, thanks to him, we are safe,” Dahlia replied.
“But Mr. Anderson isn’t really close to us. Why would he help?” Lyra asked, surprised.
“I’ve been wondering the same thing,” Dahlia admitted, deep in thought. She barely knew Hunter. Why would he help her?
