An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2430
“How many tricks does this old geezer have?”
The explosion of divine talismans left everyone stunned and furious. No one expected Arion to unleash such powerful divine energy, especially after the Glow Incantation failed and the lightning strikes didn’t harm him.
The blast from the thousands of talismans was terrifying. Only the strongest fighters—Willem, Bailey, and Batuul—were able to hold their ground. The rest of the group suffered serious injuries. In that moment, they finally understood the overwhelming strength of Dragonmarsh’s strongest man.
“Impressive,” Willem said as he landed back on his feet after being thrown. His skin, already worn, was now cracked and bleeding.
Most of the shockwave from the explosion had hit him directly. Even with his strong defenses, he was still hurt. But these wounds didn’t bother him; they healed within seconds as if nothing had happened.
“Unfortunately, that attack still isn’t enough,” Willem said, brushing himself off with a smirk. “If you want to kill me, you’ll need at least ten times that level of destruction. The real question is, do you have it in you? You must be tired by now, right?”
Willem thought Arion’s earlier burst of power was just a final desperate move. If it failed, he would be easy to defeat.
“Then, why don’t you find out for yourself?” Arion replied coolly, still standing in place and using only one hand during the fight.
“Sure. Let’s see if you can stop me,” Willem said.
He and Bailey quickly exchanged a glance before charging at Arion together, ready to attack again.
Batuul, Anthony, and three elite assassins—Vanzan, Shyvan, and Noir—followed closely behind, surrounding Arion. They couldn’t believe that despite all their combined strength, they still…
Arion smiled, sensing his opponents’ eagerness. “Since you want to play, let’s do this,” he said. With a flick of his wrist, a stunning black-and-white sword appeared in his hand.
In an instant, Arion moved like a flash, charging straight at Willem and Bailey. This time, he didn’t rely on his divine powers. Instead, he focused on pure swordsmanship.
The sword he wielded, called Celestial Slay, was the top weapon on the Divine Weapon List. Long ago, during the Era of Demon Banishment, it had helped him gain fame as the strongest man in Dragonmarsh.
Now, with Celestial Slay in his grip, Arion’s attacks were deadly. Even when facing a group of skilled fighters, he seemed completely in control, showing no signs of fatigue.
His swordsmanship was impeccable. Every move flowed seamlessly into the next, showcasing his years of training. Even though he was outnumbered, he danced through the battle with ease.
Willem and his friends kept attacking, trying different strategies. But Arion countered each move effortlessly, his sword leaving deep wounds on their bodies with every strike.
Unlike ordinary weapons, the Celestial Slay had a special ability: it caused injuries that healed slowly. After being hit, Willem and Bailey noticed their defenses were weakened, and their healing powers were greatly reduced. The wounds they received bled heavily and took longer to heal, something they had never faced before.
Normally, their strong bodies made them almost immune to injuries, and their impressive healing skills allowed them to bounce back quickly from almost anything, as long as it wasn’t life-threatening. But with the Celestial Slay in play, everything was different.
Slay took away their advantages, and as their wounds worsened without any healing, panic started to set in.
Earlier, Willem and Bailey could use their bodies to block attacks. But now, they had to fight more carefully, worried about being hit in a dangerous spot. Luckily, they had strong allies like Anthony and the others. Without them, they would have been in serious trouble.
“There’s something off about that sword he’s holding. Everyone, be careful!” Bailey warned.
“This old guy is really tough. I can’t even touch him, and it’s so frustrating!” Willem growled, gritting his teeth in anger.
He believed his speed was unmatched and that no one could stop him when he attacked with all his might. But Arion seemed to dodge effortlessly, using a strange technique to avoid their blows and quickly strike back.
With every attempt, Willem failed to hit Arion and ended up getting hurt more. Though his wounds weren’t fatal, they were healing slowly. If this kept up, he knew they would be in big trouble.
“Everyone, stop holding back! Use everything you have, or we’re done for!” he shouted.
After many failed attempts, Bailey was running out of patience. With several wounds and his energy fading, he struggled to keep up.
At the same time, he noticed that Arion was getting stronger with each passing moment. If they kept fighting like this, defeat was certain.
Bailey knew that Anthony and the others must have some powerful moves saved for a critical moment. But if they didn’t use their best attacks now, they wouldn’t be able to defeat Arion or escape Sacred Wrym Summit alive.
