An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2434
When the dust settled, Arion was the only one still standing.
Bailey, Willem, Anthony, Batuul, and the three elite assassins from Eskus were either dead or badly hurt.
Willem’s body had been blown into countless pieces. Each piece struggled on the ground, trying to come back together. Batuul was worse off; he was completely destroyed, leaving no trace behind, not even ashes.
Bailey and the three Eskus assassins had their arms cut off and were severely injured. Anthony, although still intact, was coughing up blood from crushed internal organs. The backlash from the demonic blade had taken a heavy toll on him. He looked decades older, with a gaunt face and gray hair. His frail body made him seem like a man on the brink of death.
“H-How is this possible? No… this can’t be happening!” Bailey exclaimed, his face a mix of shock and disbelief as he looked at the chaos around him—the severed limbs and broken bodies scattered on the ground.
These weren’t just any fighters; they were top martial artists from all over the world. Each one could dominate entire battlefields on their own. But Bailey never imagined that they would be unable to survive even a single strike from Arion’s blade. Arion’s strength was far beyond anything they had prepared for.
They had fought hard for hours and used their most powerful techniques, yet all they managed to defeat was a Papercraft Clone. When the real Arion joined the fight, they didn’t even have the strength to defend themselves.
The difference in strength was clear—Arion was in a league of his own. Their ambush had been like walking straight into a lion’s den.
“I’ve always tried to get…
“Why did you attack Sacred Wrym Summit?” Arion’s voice was sharp and commanding as he floated above them.
Bailey and the few survivors struggled to breathe under the weight of his presence.
The three elite assassins from Eskus were frozen in fear. They gritted their teeth against the pain and fell to their knees, begging for mercy. They finally understood how terrifying it was to face Dragonmarsh’s strongest warrior.
To them, Arion was no ordinary man; he was like a god—powerful and untouchable. With no choice left, they could only plead for their lives.
“Sage Foyer, I was tricked and made a foolish mistake by offending Sacred Wrym Summit. Please forgive me. I’ll do anything to make it right,” Anthony begged, bowing low in total submission. His voice was filled with sincerity.
He knew his fate rested entirely in Arion’s hands. At that moment, pride didn’t matter—only survival did. He would do anything to stay alive.
“Make amends?” Arion scoffed, his voice cold. “Your people from Kimboku have caused chaos in Dragonmarsh again and again. If I let you go, how could I face the souls of those who have fallen because of you?”
“Sage Foyer, there’s a saying in Dragonmarsh: ‘Admitting a mistake is the first step toward redemption.’ I know I was wrong. If you spare my life, I promise I’ll never oppose your nation again. Please have mercy.”
In a desperate act, Anthony slammed his forehead against the ground, blood trickling down his face.
“It’s not that you regret your action—you just…
“I know you’re about to die,” Arion said coldly. “But don’t worry, I forgive you. Just try not to mess up next time.”
Without waiting, he raised his hand and swung his sword. A bright flash of light shot out instantly.
“Please, Sage Foyer, spare me!” Anthony cried, his face turning pale with fear.
Before he could react, the sword light pierced through him. His body exploded into a red mist, leaving nothing behind.
“Now, it’s your turn,” Arion said, looking at the others.
The three Eskus assassins were so frightened that they wet themselves. They dropped to their knees, trembling. In their broken Dragonmarsh language, they barely managed to say, “spare me.”
However, Bailey quickly gathered his courage after a brief moment of panic. Maybe he had accepted his fate. “Go ahead. Put me out of my misery.” He closed his eyes, ready to face death.
“You’ve got some backbone, so I’ll leave your body intact.” Arion pointed at him, and a beam of light shot out like a bullet, hitting Bailey in the forehead.
Bailey shuddered and then fell to the ground, lifeless.
Next, Arion swiftly decapitated the last three Eskus assassins, and they died without a chance to react.
All of the elite fighters from the Hall of Gods were wiped out. Their ambush had failed completely.
