An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2450
the way we fought together, I think you can handle a little hug!” Boston laughed, finally letting go.
Jovian shook his head, still catching his breath. “It’s good to see you, Boston. You’ve changed a lot!”
“Yeah, life has been good,” Boston replied with a proud smile. “I’ve worked hard to get where I am now. And with your skills, I knew I could help you get this meeting with the Prince.”
Jovian nodded, grateful for his friend’s support. He felt a mix of excitement and nerves about the upcoming meeting. “I appreciate it. I really hope this goes well.”
Boston clapped him on the back. “Don’t worry! With my connections and your reputation, we’ll make a great impression. Let’s get going!”
They climbed into the jeep, and as they drove away from the airport, Jovian glanced out the window, taking in the sights of West Lucozia. He felt a sense of anticipation building inside him. This was a new chapter in his life, and he was ready to embrace it.
“Wow, you haven’t gained a single pound? You’re so skinny!” Boston finally let go of Jovian and looked him up and down with a playful sneer.
“I haven’t changed at all. But you… how did you get so muscular?” Jovian said, feeling confused and a bit awkward.
He didn’t know how to respond.
“What do you mean? This is a well-toned body! I’m the center of attention everywhere I go, especially with the ladies. They love it!” Boston flexed his muscles and struck a few poses.
“Okay, enough bragging. What about the favor I asked you? Any news?” Jovian asked, getting straight to the point.
“We hardly see each other. Let’s get in the car and grab a bite to eat first. We can talk then,” Boston said, putting his arm around Jovian’s shoulder. Before Jovian could say anything, he pushed him into the car.
After an hour of driving, they arrived at a fancy restaurant in the city center. It was so popular that customers needed reservations to get in.
But Boston was no ordinary customer. As soon as he walked in, the manager greeted him with a big smile and led them to a VIP room on the second floor. He even arranged for two women to keep them company.
Jovian had a mission in mind, so he wasn’t interested in food, drinks, or entertainment. He politely turned down the women’s company.
Boston, on the other hand, wasted no time. With a woman on each arm, he enjoyed their company. It wasn’t until they had three rounds of drinks and several dishes that he finally asked the women to leave.
“Alright, Boston. You’ve eaten, drunk, and had your fun. Can we talk business now?” Jovian finally spoke up.
“You know how it is. The prince doesn’t just meet with anyone. I have to submit a formal request and explain what it’s about,” Boston replied.
“and then wait to see if he’s available. It’s even tougher for outsiders,” Boston said, sipping his drink and shaking his head at how challenging the situation was.
“I get where you’re coming from, but I’m out of options. That’s why I need your help. I hope you’ll go the extra mile for me,” Jovian replied, pulling out a beautifully crafted box and sliding it toward Boston.
Jovian, who had a military background, knew how important it was to build strong human connections. They had once shared a bond, but that was a long time ago.
Sharing a meal or drinks was one thing, but if he wanted Boston to take action, he needed to offer something more.
“Jovian, what’s this? Do we really need to go through all these formalities?” Boston pretended to look annoyed.
“You’ll need to pull some strings to make this happen, and I can’t let you bear the costs. If word got out, people would gossip about me,” Jovian explained as he slid the box closer and opened it.
Inside were two pendants, identical in shape but different in color—one black and one white. They looked like puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together but could also be worn separately.
“These are called the Harmony Charms. They were a treasure given by the king to his children over 2,000 years ago. Wearing them boosts physical strength and protects against harm and misfortune, among other benefits,” Jovian said with a smile.
He continued, “I heard your wife recently had twins. These charms are perfect for them. Consider it a gift from me.”
Boston’s eyes lit up at the sight of the pendants. They were priceless treasures that couldn’t be bought with money and were just right for his children. He could see that Jovian had put a lot of thought into this gift.
“You… you’re being too generous,” Boston said, genuinely touched.
Jovian held the box tightly, hesitant to let it go. “Alright. Since you’re my friend, I’ll accept the gift, and I’ll make sure everything is taken care of,” he said.
“Thanks, I really appreciate it,” Jovian replied, letting out a sigh of relief.
Now that Boston had accepted the gift, everything was in place. With his many years of experience in West Lucozia, Boston had the right connections to make things happen.
“Come on, we’re friends. No need for all the formalities. Stay here for a few days, and I’ll let you know as soon as I hear anything,” Boston said with a laugh.
With the Ballard family’s influence and his own connections, Boston knew it wouldn’t be hard to get a meeting with the prince. He was doing Jovian a favor, and in return, he was getting something valuable—a win-win for both of them.
