An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2485
Austin sat in his chair, quietly observing the royal advisors as they put on their dramatic display. He took a slow sip of his tea, appearing completely unfazed by their accusations.
His calm attitude frustrated Langdon and the others. Their loud voices began to fade as they realized he wasn’t really paying attention to them.
They had stormed in, filled with righteous anger, only to be met with his indifference. Why argue when he seemed uninterested?
“Are you done?” Austin finally asked when the room fell silent. “If you want to keep talking, go ahead. Take your time until you feel satisfied.”
“Your Highness, we’re discussing serious matters. Your dismissive attitude is truly disappointing,” Langdon replied sharply.

“Serious matters?” Austin chuckled lightly.
He continued, “You barge in here without knowing the whole story, throwing around accusations like they’re facts. To me, you all look like clowns putting on a show.”
“How dare you!” Langdon exclaimed, his anger clear on his face.
His mood darkened as he said, “The prince appointed us as royal advisors. We have the authority to challenge injustice. Your misuse of power and mistreatment of loyal officials is unacceptable, both morally and legally. We have every right to protest.”
“Exactly! We demand justice for Sir Prescott,” the other advisors chimed in.
“Protest? Justice?” Austin laughed suddenly, as if he had just heard the funniest joke.
“What’s so funny?” Langdon asked, his tone serious.
“I’m laughing at your ignorance, your arrogance, and your self-righteousness,” Austin replied, still chuckling.
But then his expression grew cold. “What makes you think Warrick is innocent? And why do you believe I made the wrong decision?”
“Without knowing the full truth, you blindly condemn me while…”
defended a man guilty of terrible crimes. “Are you foolish or just part of this?” Austin challenged.
Langdon shot back, “We don’t see the justice you claim. All we see is fear, chaos, and your unchecked power.”
Austin smirked. “Then let me show you the truth.” He called out, “Axel! Bring out the evidence. Let these so-called defenders of justice see who the real villain is.”
“Yes, Your Highness,” Axel replied promptly.
He quickly spread out all the evidence on the table. Every crime was documented in detail, and this was just what had been recorded. There were many more that hadn’t been reported.
“If you can read, look for yourself,” Austin said coldly, growing impatient.
These old fools were not just corrupt; they were shockingly ignorant. Anyone with common sense wouldn’t have picked this moment to cause trouble.
“How can this be? Did Sir Prescott really do all these things?” one advisor gasped.
“This is unbelievable! Even the wildest rumors couldn’t make up something this outrageous,” another exclaimed.
As the royal advisors flipped through the evidence, they exchanged worried looks, their brows furrowed in concern.
The crimes listed were not just minor offenses like bribery; they were horrific acts that had cost hundreds of lives, with many more suffering indirectly.
The photos and records were enough to send shivers down their spines.
They all had their own wrongdoings, but theirs were nothing compared to what they were seeing.
If these accusations were true, then defending Warrick would mean they were complicit in his evil actions.
“Well? What do you have to say now?” Austin taunted.
The royal advisors looked at each other, but no one dared to respond. If Warrick…
Langdon couldn’t believe the evidence in front of him. “No! This can’t be true,” he exclaimed, his expression darkening as he read on. He stood firm, refusing to accept what he was seeing.
“Where did you get this so-called evidence? Sir Prescott has always been loyal and honorable. There’s no way he would commit such terrible acts. This must be a setup—someone is trying to frame him.”
Several royal advisors nodded in agreement. To them, Warrick was a war hero who had devoted his life to serving the country and its people. They could understand that he might have made mistakes under pressure, but the idea of him being behind such ruthless crimes was unimaginable. They speculated that perhaps outside forces were trying to create chaos in West Lucozia.
“Langdon Rhys!” Austin’s eyes narrowed. “The evidence is right in front of you, yet you still refuse to see the truth. Are you covering for him because you two have some secret dealings?”
Austin had reached his breaking point. He had been patient with Langdon out of respect for his seniority in the Rhys family. But if Langdon continued to push his luck, Austin was ready to cut ties.
