An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2493
**Chapter 2493**
As night fell, darkness settled over the city. Inside a simple house, Warrick sat on the bed with his eyes closed, meditating to regain his strength. After a day of rest, he had nearly cleared the Tranqurin from his system, and it was no longer a major issue.
However, the city was locked down. All the main roads were blocked, and wanted posters with his face were everywhere. Even though he felt stronger, escaping from Celestria was still impossible.
So, he had to stay hidden and wait for things to calm down. The original owner of the house, unfortunately, was now just a corpse.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock at the door.

Warrick’s eyes flew open, and he instinctively reached for the sword beside him.
“Who is it?” he called out.
In the living room, the Red Legion guards became tense. Two of them quietly drew their swords and positioned themselves near the door.
“It’s me,” came a familiar voice.
The guards let out a sigh of relief. One of them peeked through the narrow gap in the door. After confirming it was their ally, they quickly unlocked the door.
Standing outside was a plain-looking man dressed in black. At first glance, he seemed ordinary, but his eyes were sharp and focused.
“Geralt Finns! It’s already late. What took you so long? We thought something happened to you,” grumbled Kalen Juggs, a burly man with a thick beard.
“There were too many patrols on the way. If I hadn’t been careful, I might not have made it back at all,” Geralt explained. He took off his hat, grabbed a cup of water from the table, and gulped it down in one go.
“So, did you…?”
“Did you complete the mission?” Kalen asked, leaning toward the door to make sure no one followed Geralt before closing it firmly.
“Yes, I made contact with our reinforcement. They agreed to help us leave the city tonight,” Geralt reported.
“That’s great! I’ll inform Sir Prescott right away,” Kalen said, his face lighting up with excitement.
Just as he turned toward the bedroom, the door swung open.
Warrick, a tall and imposing figure, stepped out, his complexion now looking healthy. “No need. I heard everything,” he said, studying Geralt for a moment before giving a satisfied nod. “Good work. If we manage to escape, you’ll deserve all the credit.”
“I was just doing my duty. I don’t want any credit,” Geralt replied humbly.
“You are the ones I trust the most,” Warrick said, looking at everyone in the room. “No matter what happens—whether we leave Celestria or even West Lucozia—I will make sure you live in wealth and comfort for the rest of your lives.”
“Thank you, Sir Prescott,” the four Red Legion guards said in unison, saluting him.
“Geralt, is there anything happening outside?” Warrick asked.
“The streets are nearly empty, but patrols are everywhere. Every major checkpoint is heavily guarded. Without a royal badge, there’s no way in or out,” Geralt explained.
Then, remembering something important, he added, “Oh, and I think I saw General Steele today.”
“General Steele?” Warrick raised his eyebrows. “Which one?”
“Jaxon Steele of the Draken Guardians,” Geralt said grimly.
At the mention of that name, the room fell silent. Even Warrick’s expression turned serious.

The Draken Guardians had a strong reputation in the military. They were known as the best fighters in West Lucozia. Any one of them could easily be a general in another unit.
Their commander, Jaxon, was especially impressive. His strength was beyond belief. Even Warrick, who was strong in his own right, doubted he could defeat Jaxon. If the Draken Guardians ever trapped them, there would be no way out.
“Are you sure it was Jaxon Steele? You didn’t mix him up with someone else, did you?” Kalen asked carefully.
Geralt paused for a moment, then nodded with certainty. “I met him once before, and the man I saw today was definitely him. No doubt about it.”
“Then that’s bad news,” Kalen replied with a frown.
If they were facing regular patrols, they could push through. But going up against Jaxon and the Draken Guardians was a whole different challenge. Even if the entire Red Legion was present, they might not be able to stand their ground.
“So what if the Draken Guardians are here?” Warrick scoffed. “As long as our reinforcements arrive on time, not even they can stop us.”
The Draken Guardians were tough, but Warrick had strong allies too. If a fight broke out, the result was uncertain.
“Sir Prescott, who exactly is coming to help us?” Kalen asked, curious.
“Why do you ask so many questions?” Warrick shot him a look. “You’ll find out soon enough.”
“My apologies,” Kalen said with an awkward smile.
“Eat something and rest while you can. We might have a tough battle tonight,” Warrick said as he glanced out the window at the darkening sky.
If he could sneak out of Celestria under the cover…
In the midst of chaos, escaping to the West seemed possible for Lucozia. However, if things took a turn for the worse, they would have no choice but to fight for their lives.
