An Understated Dominance - Chapter 2568
Explosions echoed relentlessly outside the ancient temple. The golden steeple that once shielded it was already laced with dozens of hairline cracks.
With every strike from Zeus and Hera, the fractures deepened. In under half an hour, the entire structure splintered from top to bottom.
“Bring it down!”
With a thunderous cry, Zeus and Hera unleashed their full power, striking the steeple in perfect unison.
The impact shook the earth. The golden steeple, which had withstood the assault all night, finally shattered. Countless shards of divine light rained down like broken glass.

In the temple’s backyard, Grace staggered, coughing up blood.
“Your Highness!”
Several female guards rushed to support her, forming a protective wall around her as they braced for what lay ahead. If they couldn’t persuade Grace to flee, they were prepared to fight to the death.
Outside, Zeus burst into laughter. “It’s cracked! We finally did it!”
Though drained, the thrill of victory outweighed the cost. As a royal god, his power had to command respect. If he couldn’t even bring down a small steeple, how could he face the world?
“That was exhausting,” Hera muttered, letting out a long breath.
They had broken through at last, but the effort left a bitter taste. Two royal gods had spent an entire night just to destroy one structure—there was nothing triumphant about it.
Instead, one thought lingered in her mind: who owned that steeple?
Whoever it was had held off both her and Zeus for hours. That alone made them worthy of attention.
“Everyone, form ranks!”
As the steeple collapsed, monks stationed at the temple gates sprang into action. They surged forward, quickly surrounding Zeus and Hera.
This was their only chance.
After expending so much power, the gods had to be near their limits. Wait too long, and the window would close—once recovered, Zeus and Hera would be unstoppable.
Zeus swept his gaze over the monks and sneered.
“You really think this will work? A bunch of nobodies trying to take us down? Keep dreaming.”
He didn’t even need to summon his internal energy—his sheer physical strength alone was enough to crush them.
“Take him down!” the middle-aged monk ordered without hesitation. As soon as the formation snapped into place, he gave the signal to attack.
“Charge!”
Dozens of monks launched their assault in unison. Using the Adamantine Luminary Formation as their core, they formed concentric rings around Zeus and Hera.
In the next instant, their staffs struck in synchronized rhythm with a thunderous clatter. Blows rained in from every direction, so densely packed that not even light could penetrate the onslaught.
Zeus didn’t budge. He stood firm as the storm of attacks descended upon him.
Sharp cracking sounds echoed nonstop. Every staff that landed either bent grotesquely or snapped in two. Not a single strike left so much as a scratch on him.
Hera, meanwhile, had vanished the moment the strikes closed in. Every blow aimed at her landed on empty air.
“What?”
The monks stared in disbelief at their warped and splintered staffs. They had attacked with full force.
Yet Zeus hadn’t dodged or used a shred of energy to defend. He simply stood still and let the strikes land. Even then, not one had broken through his defense.
It was a crushing realization. What they had hoped would be a chance to strike while Zeus was vulnerable now felt like a cruel joke.
His body was as indestructible as the legendary Golden Sentinel.
“That’s it? Is that really all you’ve got?”
Zeus sneered, amused, clearly toying with the monks.
“Don’t get cocky!”
Two grandmaster-level monks exchanged a glance and struck at the same time—one aiming for Zeus’s head, the other for his legs.
Zeus didn’t dodge. He simply raised a hand.
With two loud clangs, their steel staffs bent sharply, but Zeus remained unharmed.
The monks were stunned. If even their combined, full-force strikes had no effect, then the outcome was already clear.
“You done? Now it’s my turn.”
Zeus let out a cold laugh and struck both monks in the chest and abdomen with blinding speed.
The two were hurled back over a hundred feet, crashing through three walls before coming to a stop. They coughed up blood, grievously injured.
With a single move—and without using any energy—Zeus had severely wounded two grandmasters. The gap in strength between them was like an endless abyss.
At that moment, everyone realized just how terrifying Zeus truly was. He was an enemy they had no hope of defeating.
