An Understated Dominance - Chapter 3
“F*ck off!”
Those two words were potent enough to freeze Florence in her tracks. She had never imagined that Dustin could transform into such a menacing figure when angered. Typically, he was always so easygoing around them. Now, he appeared as if he could devour her whole.
Once she regained her composure, Florence started shrieking, “Help! Help! He’s attacking my son!”
Before long, the Quine Group’s security personnel converged on the scene.
“What’s going on, Mrs. Nicholson?” The lead security officer recognized Florence instantly and positioned himself protectively at her side.

“Tom! Lock this guy up immediately! I demand he be punished for assaulting my son!” Florence shouted.
“Holy cow! How dare you stir up trouble in front of the Quine Group? Have you lost your marbles?” Tom gestured wildly. The security team encircled Dustin.
This was their golden opportunity to curry favor with the president’s mother. If they played their cards right, they might earn a promotion and a raise.
“What are you waiting for? Take him down!”
Just as they were poised to spring into action, a voice rang out.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
A stunning woman in a shimmering silver dress stormed into the throng, flanked by her bodyguards. With her lips adorned in a fiery red hue, she was breathtakingly beautiful. Every movement she made was captivating.
“She’s a knockout!”
The security guards gazed at her with admiration. She was undeniably one of the most striking women they had ever encountered.
“Mr. Rhys, are you alright?”
The woman paid no heed to the lustful glances and approached Dustin directly.
“Who are you?”
Dustin squinted at her, his fury beginning to fade.
“Pleasure to meet you, my name is Natasha Harmon. Mr. Anderson sent me here,” the woman said with a warm smile. At this, the security guards began to murmur among themselves.
“Natasha Harmon? Is she the heiress of the Harmon family?”
“Oh, my God! Why is she here?”
They were all taken aback. Natasha
Harmon was a renowned figure throughout the city. She was charming, powerful, and astute. At just 22 years old, she had already seized control of the Harmon Group and forged her own business empire in a mere five years.
“Ah, it’s you.”
Dustin nodded.
He had heard whispers of Natasha before, but he hadn’t anticipated her connection with Hunter.
“Mr. Rhys, please wait in the vehicle. I’ll handle this.”
Natasha snapped her fingers. Behind her, her four bodyguards swiftly drew their batons and moved toward the gathering. Despite their small number, their intimidating presence was sufficient to make the security personnel retreat. After all, they understood that the Harmon family only employed highly trained protectors.
“After you, Mr. Rhys.”
Noticing that no one else dared to budge, Natasha grinned and extended a hand to guide Dustin to the car. Without uttering a word, Dustin gathered the remnants of his necklace and departed with Natasha. No one dared to intervene.
“What the heck? What do we pay you for? Why did you just let them go?” Florence shouted as she grasped the unfolding situation.
“Mrs. Nicholson, she’s Natasha Harmon. We don’t dare to cross her!” The head of security sighed. None of them would risk laying a hand on Natasha.
“Useless fools! You’re too afraid to confront her, but you think it’s okay to disrespect my daughter?” Florence demanded.
The security guards exchanged glances, too intimidated to respond.
“What’s going on?”
Dahlia and Lyra emerged to investigate the uproar.
“Dahlia! You’re here! Look at how badly your brother’s been hurt!”
As soon as Florence spotted her, she began to weep, as if she were the one who had suffered the beating.
“What transpired? Who did this?”
Upon seeing her brother’s injuries, Dahlia’s expression
became brisk.
“Who else? It’s that vile Dustin!” Florence exclaimed. “We encountered him just now. James picked up a crystal necklace that he had dropped and attempted to return it, but he twisted the story and claimed that your brother had stolen it from him. After some heated words, he assaulted James! My poor James, he only did what he believed was right. What has he done to warrant this?”
She began sobbing uncontrollably.
“Dustin?” Dahlia frowned. “He’s always been so mild-mannered. Why would he strike James without cause? What did you do?”
“What do you mean by that?” Florence’s expression turned fierce. “Do you not trust your mother?”
“I just want to uncover the truth,” Dahlia replied.
After three years of marriage, she had come to understand Dustin’s character well. He was typically composed and rarely lost his cool. He wouldn’t just lash out at someone for no reason.
“Look at your brother! Is the truth not evident enough? If you doubt me, ask the security personnel. They witnessed everything!” With that, Florence shot a glance at the security guards.
“Ms. Nicholson, your mother is correct. That individual there was the one who attacked your brother. If it weren’t for us, she might have fallen prey to him as well.”
The head of security grasped his role perfectly.
“You see? I’m not wronging that scoundrel!” Florence pressed on. “I’ve warned you before, that Rhys fellow is not a good person. He’s a fraud. Just look at what he’s done right after you divorced him. He’s even found a new mistress now!”
Upon hearing this, Dahlia’s brow furrowed. She felt torn about what to believe. Could Dustin truly resort to such actions? Perhaps he was enraged about the divorce and sought revenge through her brother. If that were the case, then she had to concede that she had misjudged him!
