An Understated Dominance - Chapter 384
“Natasha Harmon! What are you doing? Who gave you the right to call off the marriage?” Once Jayla left, Jessica let her anger out. The marriage was crucial for their family, and she wouldn’t let Natasha make decisions on her own.
“Natasha, do you realize how lucky you are to marry Tyler Grant? Why would you cancel it?” Quentin looked at her as if she were being foolish. Tyler Grant was the top choice in the Southern province and a hero in Dragonmarsh. By thirty, he had already become a general, commanding thousands. He was young, talented, and the most sought-after bachelor, with women admiring him everywhere.
To their shock, Natasha had no interest in Tyler at all, which they thought was foolish.
“I will decide about my marriage. I don’t have feelings for Tyler, and I won’t marry him,” she answered calmly. In the past, she might have gone along with the arranged marriage for the sake of the Harmon family, especially since Tyler was perfect in every way—great background, skills, and potential. Everyone expected her to marry him, but now her heart was set on Dustin.
“You can learn to love him,” Jessica insisted firmly. “This is the only way you’ll find happiness, and we will be safe. If you cancel the marriage, you’ll put our family in danger!”

“Exactly, Natasha! Don’t forget about the Dark Lord. He is a constant threat to our family. Without the support of the Grant Family, he could come after us at any moment!” Quentin warned her seriously.
But Natasha frowned, “I will find a way to handle the Dark Lord.”
“Handle him? How?! It’s been ten years. Every year, one of us Harmons has been killed for no reason. Even…”
about?” Dustin asked, raising an eyebrow.
Dahlia smiled, excitement shining in her eyes. “With this money, I can finally make the changes I need at Cardinal Group. I’ll be able to prove myself and become the chairman.”
Dustin nodded, happy to see her so enthusiastic. “I knew you could do it. You’re capable of great things.”
Back at Natasha’s house, Jessica paced nervously. “You don’t understand, Natasha. If you don’t say yes to Tyler, our family will be in chaos. We’ve put everything into this.”
“I can’t just marry him to save the family!” Natasha replied, frustration creeping into her voice. “I need to find a way to defeat the Dark Lord first.”
Jessica stopped and looked at her sister. “What if you fail? What will happen to you then?”
“I won’t fail!” Natasha insisted, her determination stronger than ever. “I have to believe I can do this.”
Jessica sighed, knowing her sister’s stubbornness. “Just remember, you have only seven days. You need a plan.”
Natasha nodded slowly, feeling the weight of the situation. She had to act fast if she was going to save her family and herself.
Meanwhile, back at the Nicholson Villa, Dahlia was still lost in thought about the check. “This really changes everything for me. I can finally take charge.”
Dustin smiled. “Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility. Use the money wisely.”
Dahlia nodded. “I will. I won’t let you down.”
As the two continued discussing plans, the clock was ticking for Natasha. She had to find a solution before it was too late.
Florence and James walked into the room just then.
“Mom, look at this!” Dahlia exclaimed, handing Florence a check. Florence’s eyes widened with joy when she saw the amount. “D-d-did I see that correctly? This check is for one billion dollars!”
“One billion?” James gasped, his eyes almost popping out. He had never seen that much money before.
“Surprising, right? Dustin gave me the check,” Dahlia said proudly.
“Dustin?” Florence frowned, looking him over with doubt. “Are you really sure he can do this? Is the check even real?”
“Of course it’s real! I checked it multiple times!” Dahlia insisted, sounding serious.
“This doesn’t make sense! He’s broke. When did he get rich?” James was still skeptical.
“I may not have much, but I know some wealthy people. If you don’t believe me, just give the check back,” Dustin said, reaching for it.
“We trust you! Of course we do!” Florence quickly stuffed the check into her pocket and smiled at him. “Wow, Dustin, you’ve really changed! I never thought you’d have a billionaire friend! When will you introduce us?”
Having a connection like that could open up many opportunities. A person who could lend a billion dollars was definitely someone special. If the Nicholsons could befriend him, it would greatly benefit them in the future.
James frowned. “Mom, are you really believing all of this?”
“You’re the one being ridiculous!” Florence shot back, giving him a playful slap on the back of the head. “Watch how you talk to your brother-in-law! Be respectful!”
“Huh?” James was taken aback by his mom’s sudden change of attitude. She had been acting so proud just a moment ago.
Dustin looked surprised as Florence quickly switched from pointing fingers at him to smiling and being sweet.
James thought to himself, “Wow, she changes her mood so fast! That’s impressive!”
“Dustin, are you hungry? I can cook for you! And don’t forget to share that friend’s contact info with me. I need his advice on personal finance,” Florence said eagerly.
Chapter 384
Florence was practically glowing with excitement.
“It’s okay. I’m not hungry,” Dustin replied, shaking his head. This was the first time in their three years of marriage that he had received such a warm welcome from her. He wondered if this was what money could do.
“Mom, you should go get the groceries. I need to go out with Dustin, and we’ll eat later,” Dahlia suggested suddenly.
“Where are you going?” Florence asked, curious.
“We’re going to talk to Madam Gloria about making me the chairman. With our billion dollars in investments, they won’t have a choice but to agree!” Dahlia said with a bright smile.
“Great! Go and secure that chairman position!” Florence encouraged her daughter, excited for what was to come.
Once Dahlia became the chairman of Cardinal Group, she would be closer to leading the Nicholson Family, which would also raise the status of everyone else in the family.
