“Now! Kneel down immediately!” Edwin shouted at Dustin. Dustin squinted at him. “What if I don’t?”

“Then I’ll take it out on her!” Edwin grabbed Gloria and held a gun to her temple. He knew Dustin was strong, so he needed a shield.

“Edwin Hummer! You better be careful! That’s Madam Gloria from the Nicholson Family!” Dustin’s face darkened.

“Oh, she’s your Madam Gloria? Sounds like you really care about her,” Edwin laughed. “Do what I say if you want to keep her alive!”

“Dustin! Why are you just standing there? Kneel!” Dakota urged him, panicking.

“You jerk! Kneel! Do you want me to die?” Gloria’s face went pale.

“Madam Gloria, please hold on. I’ll save you soon,” Dustin said, pretending to be angry as he faced Edwin. “Edwin Hummer, come at me! If you hurt her, I swear I won’t forget it!”

“You don’t know what desperate means.” Furious, Edwin shot Gloria in one knee. She cried out in pain, her face twisting in agony.

“That’s too much! Let her go! If not…” Dustin threatened, but Edwin had already shot her other knee. “Kneel!”

“You brat. Hurry up and kneel, or you’ll regret it!” Gloria wailed, drenched in sweat from the pain.

“Edwin Hummer! Stop! If you kill her, you’ll face the consequences!” Dustin was furious, but Edwin just laughed harder.

“Is that so? If you care so much, I’ll show you what it’s like to lose someone you love!” He aimed the gun at Gloria’s head and pulled the trigger. The bullet struck her.

“You monster—” Gloria gasped.

Dakota was terrified, but it was too late for her to speak. Her eyes filled with anger as her cold body fell to the floor.

“Edwin Hummer! Your enemy is me!” Dustin shouted, pretending to be hurt.

“Great! I love that expression!” Edwin laughed and grabbed Dakota, who was frozen in shock. “I have plenty of hostages here. We can drag this out for as long as you want. I’ll ask you again—are you going to kneel or not?”

“Edwin Hummer, you’re being unreasonable!” Dustin scolded him. But Edwin didn’t hesitate. He shot Dakota in the leg. “Now, will you kneel?”

Finally realizing the danger she was in, Dakota began to wail and scream. Tears and snot covered her face as she shouted, “Dustin Rhys! You need to kneel right now! I’m the precious daughter of the Nicholson Family. They won’t go easy on you if I get hurt! Kneel, now!”

“Dakota, you need to be a proud and strong Nicholson. You have to be a great person in this life and the next! We must fight threats without tarnishing the family’s name!” Dustin urged.

“Oh, you idiot! Stop with the nonsense. We’re in a crisis! Do you want me to die?” Dakota yelled at Dustin, but Edwin shot her in the leg again. She rolled on the floor, crying out in pain.

“I’m warning you! Killing Dakota Nicholson will make you a public enemy!” Dustin shouted angrily, while Dakota’s face twisted with rage. Just as she was about to yell at him, she saw Edwin aiming his gun at her. A bullet struck her forehead with a loud bang.
