An Understated Dominance - Chapter 400
Dustin felt the soft weight in his arms and the familiar scent that made him smile. He noticed her tears and realized how much she cared for him.
“Okay, okay, stop crying. Your tears are soaking my new shirt,” he said after they hugged for a while.
“What’s the big deal? I’ll pay for the shirt,” she replied, letting go and giving him a playful pinch on the waist that made him wince. “And why didn’t you get away sooner?” she asked, looking at him seriously.
“He was a ticking time bomb—no pun intended. I had to take him down before I could leave,” Dustin explained calmly.
“I know you’re good at fighting, but you need to think about your safety. He had bombs strapped to him! What if he had blown you up?” she argued.

Dustin smiled and said, “But I’m fine!”
“That’s just luck! You can’t keep pushing your luck like this!” she warned him.
“Alright. I’ll be more careful next time,” he said, nodding earnestly.
“That’s better!” She smiled, feeling relieved. It was great to be a hero, but she wanted Dustin to stay safe above all else.
“Dustin Rhys, do you have nine lives? How did you survive that big explosion?” James and Florence approached the wreckage cautiously.
“I guess I should thank my lucky stars for making it through,” Dustin replied casually.
“Oh my god! My villa!” Florence suddenly wailed as she took in the destruction. “Oh, Edwin Hummer, you jerk! I can deal with him wanting to die, but why did he have to ruin my villa too? This is unforgivable!”
“Mom, this all happened because of Dustin. I—”
“Do you think you can ask him for compensation?” James quickly thought of a plan.
“That’s right!” Florence agreed, tugging on Dustin’s sleeve. “Dustin Rhys, this is all your fault! You need to pay for ruining my villa!”
“Mom, a villa isn’t worth a life. Dustin saved us. Is it really fair to ask him for money?” Dahlia frowned at her mother.
“Why is that unfair? He got us into this mess. Don’t even think about leaving if you don’t pay!” Florence started to act entitled.
“Alright, how much do you want?” Dustin didn’t want to argue.
“Eight million… No! Ten million!” Florence quickly raised the price.
“Mom! We bought this villa for five million. Isn’t that scamming Dustin?” Dahlia’s annoyance grew.
“That was before. Don’t you know housing prices are skyrocketing? I won’t let this go if I don’t get ten million!” Florence put her hands on her hips.
“You—” Dahlia was ready to argue, but Dustin stopped her by placing his hand over hers.
“Fine. Ten million it is. I’ll transfer it to your account tomorrow.”
“Hmph! That’s more like it!” Florence smiled and let go of him.
“Hey! Are you crazy? How are you going to get that money from a small medical center?” Dahlia glared at him.
“Don’t underestimate me. I provided the Harmon family with my prescription, and I will get 50% of the sales from the pills they make. Ten million is nothing.” Dustin seemed unfazed. With his profits from Hillview Hotel and his share of the earnings from Immortunol, he could easily make tens of millions every month.
“At the end of the day, you’re still Natasha—”
“Dustin is just Harmon’s business partner,” Dahlia said, her voice full of jealousy.
“Why would you call me a kept man? That’s not true!” Dustin replied, clearly upset.
He wanted to make it clear that he wasn’t in a romantic relationship with Harmon; they were just working together.
