An Understated Dominance - Chapter 401
“Hmph!” Dahlia scoffed and refused to speak to him. Just before she left, she stomped hard on his foot.
And so, the unfortunate incident came to an end. The authorities arrived shortly after the explosion. The fire brigade worked to clear the area and put out the flames. By the end of the day, they announced that the explosion was caused by a gas leak.
Three days passed quickly. During this time, Dahlia and her family returned to the Nicholson family home to keep Henry Nicholson company.
Meanwhile, the Glenstead Nicholsons sent a team to investigate the deaths of Gloria and Dakota. However, they had to close the case when they learned that Edwin Hummer, the murderer, had died in a suicide bombing.
Notably, Regulus Nicholson decided to confirm Dahlia as the chairman of the Cardinal Group. It wouldn’t be long before she officially took on the role of chairman.

During these three days, Dustin received some surprising news. He learned that the 900-year green lotus that Jayla Grant had won in a bid was bought by the Stoneray Order for a high price. There were rumors that the Stoneray Order possessed a secret formula that could speed up the ripening process of the lotus, turning it into a thousand-year green lotus in no time. But the truth of these rumors was still uncertain.
To ensure he didn’t miss out on this valuable herb, Dustin sent Roderick back to Millsburg to gather information. If the formula was real, Dustin planned to pay the Stoneray Order a visit.
He was also concerned about Natasha, who had been out of contact for three days since she went to Millsburg. She hadn’t replied to texts or answered calls. Even Park Place was worried.
The place was quiet, with just a few servants standing guard.
On the third day at noon, Dustin grew more worried when he saw a silver Bentley parked outside the medical center. He rushed out, feeling hopeful, only to see Ruth step out of the car.
“Ruth, what are you doing here? Where’s your sister?” he asked, confused.
“Natasha won’t be back for a while,” Ruth said, looking less energetic and more serious than usual.
“What do you mean?” Dustin frowned, feeling uneasy.
“Something happened at home, and she had to take care of it. She sent me to you so you wouldn’t worry,” Ruth explained.
“What exactly happened?” he pressed, knowing Natasha wouldn’t ignore his calls unless something serious was wrong.
“Just wait for her updates. If she comes back to Swinton in a few days, everything will be fine. If not, you need to forget about her.” Ruth seemed ready to leave.
“Hold on!” Dustin grabbed her arm, his expression serious. “Is she in danger? If she is, I’ll go and get her!”
“Natasha is safe. She’s not hurt,” Ruth said, shaking her head sadly.
“But what does all this mean? Did she get into trouble?” he asked firmly.
“Dustin, you need to let this go. You can’t handle this alone; it will only get you in trouble. Natasha doesn’t want to drag you into it,” Ruth sighed heavily.
“How will we know if we don’t try? I believe we can get through this together!” Dustin’s face grew stern as Ruth remained tight-lipped. “Ruth Harmon, if you don’t tell me, I’ll go to Millsburg and find out for myself! Don’t blame me if I cause chaos in the Harmon family!”
