An Understated Dominance - Chapter 405
“How dare you hit my father?” Abigail shouted in anger. She grabbed a beer bottle, ready to swing it, but Edmund quickly stopped her.
“Abigail, don’t act impulsively!” he urged. “What, are you going to hit me again? Go ahead! If you even touch me, not a single person here will leave tonight!” The man in the suit laughed coldly.
“Listen, it’s just a misunderstanding,” Edmund said, trying to smile apologetically. “Once you calm down, we can talk about this.”
“Talk? What gives you the right to talk to me?” the man scoffed, holding up his broken watch. “Do you know what this is? It’s a limited edition Patek watch worth eight hundred thousand dollars!”
Edmund’s heart sank. “Eight hundred thousand dollars? That’s so much!” He couldn’t believe it. He only made a few thousand dollars a month, and it would take him years to save that much money.

“What, didn’t you want to talk? Then pay up. If you can give me eight hundred thousand dollars tonight, I might let your daughter off the hook,” the man said arrogantly.
Edmund’s eyes darted around the room, unsure of what to do. “Well…”
“I can see you can’t afford it. Fine, I won’t make it hard for you. Just have your daughter spend one night with me, and I’ll forget about the money. How does that sound?” The man grinned wickedly.
“In your dreams!” Abigail glared at him.
“Give me a few days, and I’ll find the money,” Edmund said, trying to negotiate.
“I want it now! If you don’t have the cash, then get lost. Don’t ruin my fun!” The man’s impatience grew.
The man in the suit pushed Edmund to the floor. “Old man, you should feel lucky that I’m interested in your daughter. Even a minor celebrity is worth eight hundred thousand dollars. You should be happy!”
“You’ve gone too far!” Abigail shouted as she watched her father get knocked down. Unable to hold back any longer, she grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it over the man’s head.
The bottle shattered loudly, spraying beer everywhere and leaving the man stunned. He reached for his head and felt blood on his hand.
“How dare you hit me?!” he yelled, his anger boiling over. “You little brat, I’m going to kill you!”
“Let’s see who has the guts to try!” Abigail shot back defiantly.
Just then, a group of boys with baseball bats burst in, looking fierce. The leader was Mike, a tall and strong guy with a charming face. He and his friends brought a sense of power with them as they entered.
“Awesome, Mike is here!” Abigail and the other girls beamed at the sight of him, their eyes filled with admiration.
Mike Horton was well-known at school. He came from a respected family, was handsome, and captained the basketball team. He was the guy everyone turned to for help, no matter the situation.
“Abigail, are you okay?” Mike asked, appearing like a true gentleman.
“I’m fine,” Abigail replied, shaking her head with a bright smile. She definitely had feelings for Mike, especially since they spent a lot of time together.
“Thank goodness you showed up, Mike! We were about to get harassed by these guys!” said a girl with short hair, looking scared.
“Don’t worry. I’m here, and no one will hurt you!” Mike shouted, holding up a baseball bat and glaring at the man in the suit. “Are you the one picking on my friends? Get on your knees and apologize right now, and maybe I’ll let you go. If not, I’ll break both your legs!”
