An Understated Dominance - Chapter 425
“What? Three minutes?” Abigail was shocked. Didn’t Dustin say that it usually took regular martial artists a year or more to reach the basic level? Even she, a once-in-a-century genius, needed a whole day to cultivate her internal energy. Achieving it in just one day was impressive, but Dustin did it in three minutes! What should she call him? A monster?
A freak?
Abigail couldn’t believe it. Her earlier pride faded away.
“Are you… kidding me?” she asked, struggling to accept it.
“Why would I lie to you? I have nothing to gain from that,” Dustin replied, shrugging. “Besides, it’s just talent. It doesn’t equal strength. There are plenty of geniuses in this world. The path of martial arts is long and tough. To become really strong, you need both talent and hard work.”

“I understand! I’ll work hard and catch up to you soon!” Abigail declared, clenching her fist. With determination, she ran upstairs to begin her intense training. Dustin chuckled, thinking Abigail reminded him of someone.
She was just like that girl from the Spanner family ten years ago. Just then, he heard a knock at the door. When he opened it, he found Ruth standing outside.
“Ruth, how is your sister? Does she want to see me?” Dustin asked eagerly.
Ruth didn’t respond right away. She looked down and glanced behind her, showing a hesitant expression. That’s when Dustin noticed two people standing in the courtyard behind her.
One was a man and the other a woman. The man was tall and imposing, appearing to be in his forties or fifties. He radiated a strong presence that made Dustin feel a bit intimidated.
The woman, on the other hand, had clearly put effort into her appearance. She looked…
Jessica, with her fair skin, graceful figure, and delicate features, had a charm that lingered in the air. She was Ruth’s mother.
“So, you’re Dustin?” a man said, his voice calm but firm.
“Yes, that’s me,” Dustin replied, nodding.
“I am Hector, Natasha’s father.” Hector got straight to the point.
“Oh, Mr. Harmon! Please come inside,” Dustin said with a faint smile, extending his hand. As soon as he saw Jessica, he had guessed who the visitors were.
“There’s no need for that. I’m here to talk,” Hector said, still calm. “Natasha is already engaged, and she will be married by the end of this month. I hope you won’t see my daughter anymore.”
“Married?” Dustin frowned. “Why didn’t she tell me?”
“What difference does it make? This decision was made by two important families, and it can’t be changed,” Hector replied, his expression unchanged. “I don’t know if you truly love my daughter or if you’re just interested in her family. Either way, you need to stay away from her.”
As he spoke, he signaled, and several bodyguards entered the courtyard with two large boxes. When the boxes were opened, they revealed stacks of gold.
“Young man, this gold is a gift from me. Take it and leave the capital. Don’t come near my daughter again,” Hector said.
