Nicholas stared at the crushed Gemiphen, feeling both heartbroken and angry. He no longer cared about his image; he fell to the ground and began to gather the powder piece by piece.

The onlookers were stunned. Was it really that big of a deal to get upset over a broken pill?

“Mr. Turner, what’s happening?” Spring asked, confused. People from Stoneray Valley were usually proud and confident, and she had never seen them lose their composure like this.

“What’s happening? How can you ask me that?” Nicholas shot back, furious. “How could you destroy a panacea? This is a rare pill! What a waste! Who did this?!”

“Mr. Turner, are you sure? How could this broken thing be a panacea?” Torben questioned, looking doubtful.

“You’re such an idiot!” Nicholas glared at him. “What you call a broken thing is the Golden Crow Pill, a holy medicine for healing! It can treat various internal injuries and chronic illnesses. Your grandfather could have been saved!”

“What?”

Everyone’s expressions changed as they processed this information. Even though they didn’t know what Gemephin was, the fact that it could help their father and that Nicholas valued it so much indicated it was something special.

“You fools! You all treated such a miraculous healing pill like trash! How could you be so careless?” Nicholas cried, his heart heavy with grief. He pounded his chest and stomped his feet in frustration.

As an elder of Stoneray Valley, he valued precious medicines above all else. Watching the Gemiphen get destroyed felt like a deep wound.

“Torben! Look at what you’ve done! You ruined a medicine that could save Grandfather. How will you explain this to everyone?” Patrick shouted, his voice full of disapproval.

“I… I didn’t know this could save a life,” Torben stammered, regret flooding his voice.

“Life is so complicated,” Torben said, feeling guilty. “This wouldn’t have happened if you had explained things clearly earlier.”

“Are you blaming me for your mistake?” Patrick’s expression turned icy.

“Let’s just calm down! It’s just a pill. If it’s gone, it’s gone. We can get another one. Why are we making such a big deal about this?” Autumn stepped in to defend Torben.

“Do you think this is just any ordinary pill? It was a special gift from my friend! Who knows if I can get another one?” Patrick frowned. He was frustrated that Torben not only made a mistake but also refused to admit it.

“Patrick, let’s focus on what really matters. We need to save Grandfather. Contact your friend right away and ask for the Gemiphen!” Spring urged.

“Okay, I’ll try to reach out.” Patrick didn’t waste any time and called Dustin immediately. He quickly explained the emergency.

Dustin didn’t hesitate. After getting the address, he rushed over. Within half an hour, he arrived at the Hill family home.

“Dustin, you made it! Come in!” Patrick said, eagerly leading him inside. They soon reached Paul’s room.

“Is this your friend? Can he be trusted?” Torben blocked their way as they entered, eyeing Dustin with skepticism.

Dustin looked young, and Torben wondered if someone like him could really help.

“Don’t worry. He’s definitely more reliable than you!” Patrick shot back, annoyed.

“According to the rules, we need to check you before—”

“Raise your hands and stand against the wall,” Torben ordered.

Dustin frowned and replied, “You want to frisk me? I came here to help your grandfather, not to be treated like a criminal. Is that really necessary?”

Torben shrugged and said, “These are our rules. We have to search strangers properly. You never know if someone might be carrying weapons.”

“Torben! Don’t go too far!” someone called out.
